I know some will disagree, but I haven't turned a rotor in years. I replace pads well before its needed, and if the rotors need machining, I just assume put new ones on. They're cheap enough.

If you cut them your brakes just burn up faster.

Replacing rotors on disc brakes isn't hard. I really hate drum brakes though.

Drum brakes suck. They last so long on the rear because the front is doing all the work.

Best car was my Olds Cierra. Two bolts held the caliper. The lugs held the rotor. On and off, re pad in 3 minutes flat!

My experience, they tend to get hotter & warp easier. I don't have the time or patience to deal with that. Assume do it right the first time.
