A recent Edmonton murder case is being featured on Dateline tonight. It's a bizzare one, too !
Dateline Host Keith Morrison was actually born in Lloydminister (Alberta/Saskatchewan).

Should be a good one !

Don't be silly. There are no murders in Canada.....so nothing to watch on Dateline. Good thing I rented a movie for tonight.

I believe a similar program that started on the west coast years ago was tried in Boston, if I recall correctly all the bikes were painted the same color, the honest people on the west coast used and left those bikes for others to use. In Boston every single bike disappeared .
Also please be aware that under Mass. law a bicycle is considered a motorized vehicle, thus the riders is subject to all motor vehicle laws just as a car , bus or truck is. No using a crosswalk, unless under Mass. law the person has two feet on the ground ,as a short cut. You can be ticketed for running a stop sign, a red light, illegal right turn on red, riding on the side walk, riding recklessly as to cause others to have a collision , and DUI on a bike is the same as in a car.
No wonder Boston wants this program again, it's a major money maker for the city....fines and more fines....oh how the mayor will enjoy all that extra money coming in.

If the main problem with protection the environment is caused by people, then they should be in support of having less people occupying the world.
Instead of trying to save a whale or two , maybe they should be against immigration. Keep all those people within their own countries with their low birthrates results in few people per year living. Letting them migrate to another country where there is plenty of food and life saving medicines is very bad for the environment.

The Canadians got something right for once:

Canadian Commentator: The Press Gave America 'An Untried, Unknown,' 'Incompetent' President

Maybe what America's press really need is a Canadian television commentator to explain how atrocious their coverage of Barack Obama has been since the moment he tossed his named into the presidential ring in February 2007.
Although they may not be familiar with CBC's Rex Murphy, they should certainly heed the marvelous piece he wrote for the National Post Saturday entitled "The Media’s Love Affair With a Disastrous President":

As the bad economic news continues to emanate from the United States — with a double-dip recession now all but certain — a reckoning is overdue. American journalism will have to look back at the period starting with Barrack [sic] Obama’s rise, his assumption of the presidency and his conduct in it to the present, and ask itself how it came to cast aside so many of its vital functions. In the main, the establishment American media abandoned its critical faculties during the Obama campaign — and it hasn’t reclaimed them since.
Murphy then walked through some of the press's most egregious examples of malpractice:
  • Gliding past Obama's pretentions
  • Ignoring his arrogance
  • Not reporting his gaffes
  • Side-stepping his connection to Rev. Jeremiah Wright
  • Trashing Hillary Clinton
  • Burning Republicans
  • Ransacking Sarah Palin and her family
"Palin, in particular, stands out as Obama’s opposite in the media’s eyes," wrote Murphy. "As much as they genuflected to the one, they felt the need to turn rotweiler toward the other."
After offering further examples of so-called journalists' unforgivable obsession with attacking the former governor of Alaska, Murphy gave his strongest criticism.
"As a result, the press gave the great American republic an untried, unknown and, it is becoming more and more frighteningly clear, incompetent figure as President."
Murphy crescendoed to his spot on conclusion: "To the degree the press neglected its function as watchdog and turned cupbearer to a styrofoam demigod, it is a partner in the flaws and failures of what is turning out to be one of the most miserable performances in the modern history of the American presidency."
Almost on cue, "American Conservative's" Jim Pinkerton observed a few hours later on Saturday's "Fox News Watch" that some of Obama's enablers are starting to get it.
"There’s a strange thing happening in the media which is, I think, liberalism has sort of concluded that Obama is kind of a turkey, and they're sort of trying to distance themselves from him."
They might try, but too many observers know the truth: the press aided and abetted this national disgrace, and they're going to have a lot to answer for in the coming years regardless of how much they try to distance themselves from the current White House resident.
Hopefully more members of the foreign press will assist those of us in the States that have been sending out warning signals since February 2007.
Maybe with their help, the media malpractice will be totally acknowledged by the guilty parties, and America will never have to witness such a disgraceful episode again.
A conservative can dream, can't he?

Wow ! I actually listen to Rex Murphy quite often. He is a commentar on CBC news (has his 5 minutes say per newscast).
I never heard him spseak like that ever before.

It does change my opinion on him, either that, or his blog got hacked.
I must honestly say, I do like his comments on the news, but I think he went a little too far on this one.

Old Rex knows the MSM was worshipping at the altar instead of just reporting the news. If you just report the news, you can go good or bad against the current admin. If you are so enamored with the Messiah and you've drooled on youself over him, then you ignore the bad and continue to heap praise.

Retired 22 years
I just returned from a week or so of driving around Canada (mostly Alberta) visiting their National Parks--- Banff, Jasper, Kahootnay, Waterton-Glacier, etc. Beautiful country but DAMN---they sure ain't afraid to charge for it. I had figured the off season wouldn't be so expensive but I sure figured wrong. In the US a "Golden Age Pass" -good for all National Parks-costs 10 bucks and is good forever. One pass gets the whole car full into a Park. In Canada it cost $7.50 a day per person to get into a Park. And motel rooms!!!! In Banff the cheapest room we could find was $149.00 a night----my god--- I just wanted to spend a night- not buy the friggin place. Oh well ---I got that trip crossed off the old bucket list.

I hope you made it to the hotsprings - I love those ! (They have 1 near Jasper, 1 in Banff, and 1 in Radium (BC) ).

And yeah, it's not cheap here. It's cheaper for me to go to Cuba, Mexico or Florida then to vacation here at home. Sad but true.

Yeah, but here you would have had the mountain goats right there at the Hotsprings... awesome for pics.

Speaking of pics, you better post some nice ones from the Canadian Rockies, probably win the Photo contest on a few of them ? :)
