Canadian government “ready to talk” about Iceland adopting our currency?

Iceland has been desperate to replace its krona with a more stable currency since its banking collapse of 2008.
But instead of the obvious choices — the American dollar, the British pound or the euro — it seems Icelanders are eyeing our loonie.
According to an article in the Globe and Mail, several Icelandic business leaders and some political parties have actually approached the Canadian government about adopting the Canadian dollar as their national currency.

Canada: Richer than America and more powerful than Europe – how we can become the next superpower

The long-bemoaned outflow of our talent to better opportunities abroad—especially south of the border—appears to be reversing. According to Immigration Canada, the number of American temporary residents in this country grew by almost 15% in 2009, and applications for work visas doubled between 2008 and 2010, hitting a record in 2010.

Over the past decade, our middle class has been steadily gaining on the Americans, and today it is significantly richer. According to the 2011 Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report, the median Canadian's net worth is now US$89,014—almost 70% higher than the equivalent Yank's.

Why are they doing that? We all are going to have one currency pretty soon...

Well the western powers, politicians and their central banks are under the same guideline and the work is being done for North American Union and for globalization. One of the probable reason of why they are busy to destroy the US constitution and going to the UN for wars instead of Congress (at least from my point of view). It is not a conspiracy about the New World Order, you can hear it from high ranking politicians, just do some research on it. You might have a different take on it, but it is real. Don't recommend to watch Alex Jones he is a fear-monger :D
This story isn't done yet (believe me), BTW he got a gunshot at his house after this segment and he also quit from CNN.

The US dollar is about to end in my opinion this year, but I don't think they can take it to beyond 2013.

Far fetched ! Canadians have no desire at all to join the USA, Quite the opposite, and even our PM Harper is rubbing it in ! :

War of 1812 bicentennial splash in Canada contrasts with widespread U.S. indifference

As Canada revs up to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, most Americans are observing it with a shrug and some are little bemused by the fuss Canadians are making.

The federal government is spending $28 million on the bicentennial, including a Canada Day extravaganza on Parliament Hill, to cement Prime Minister Stephen Harper's view of the war as a pivotal event in Canadian history.

Tight government budgets have prevented a broad U.S. commemoration of the anniversary, according to the Los Angeles Times, which added there's little interest in doing more.

Titanic anniversary marked with commemorative coin

The Royal Canadian Mint says it contains 99.99 per cent pure silver, has a $10 face value and will sell for $64.95.
It is making only 20,000 of those coins.

It is also producing a silver-plated 50-cent coin and 25-cent copper-nickel coin to mark the tragedy. They will sell for $34.95 and $25.95, respectively

and of course: Each coin bears the traditional obverse design featuring Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. One more bit of proof about who is running Canada.

What a scam: they will never be used as Currency as the value of each $10 dollar coin should exceed it's face value. So $64.95 x 20,000 = 19,900,000 , which - minus expenses and the cost of the silver means more shoes and tea parties for the Queen.

The coin has no-(and will never have)-any Numismatic value.
Limited edition non legal tender is the biggest scam in the fine metal industry.
There is no collector market for these type of coins, except the collecting fools that like to pay double the true value.
The only value is in the silver content.

Silver closed at $33.48 an ounce today.
This "rare" coin sells for $64.95.
Yep, that is a klein investment.

People felt scammed when they bought the Kruger Rand, Maple Leaf or American Eagle for $200 on a $100 face value.

Well, now those coins are well worth over $2000 in just over 10-15 years.

That doesn't even include the currency exhange back then ($100 US = $150 Canadian) or it would cost you US$60 to buy C$100.

Here's one Americans would want :

Yep,
Thanks for making my point.
The increase of those prices is directly due to the increase of the price of gold and silver content of the "coin".
Face value?
Stamping $10 on a piece of $34 silver and selling it for $65 is not a value
to the idiot that buys it.
Maybe this link will help you learn the difference between buying bullion and a Numismatic.
