Ok California. Now what?

Emergency vehicles are exempt from emissions testing anyway. So yet another false information post put out by Trumpers.
Take everything with a grain of salt when it comes to what's actually going on with these fires. CA has the largest firefighting force in the country and makes it a top priority all year round. Other states just don't have an understanding of how fire is just a part of the climate out here as rain and snow are. You can't plan for 100 mph winds blowing fire everywhere in a densely populated area.

It comes just three months after the LAFD made a request to the city's council to replace the entire fleet at the cost of $96.5million.

The LAFD said in its request: 'Many vehicles have surpasses their expected service life, leading to increased maintenance costs, reduces parts availability and potential downtime.'

The fire service also requested more than $1.9million to restore 16 maintenance positions 'deleted' in last year's budget.

Where’s YOUR grain of salt when it comes to believing everything your state government tells you?

Do you not remember the Amazon rain forest burning? Or in Australia?
I said that no other region in the country has the frequency or severity of the alleged global warming issues found in California and you respond using examples from South America and Australia, LOL.

96 million would get them probably less that a 100 trucks----not a whole new fleet.

It's even funnier that you lack the common knowledge of California's climate and geography.
Well then, are California's frequent and severe weather related problems a result of climate change or its unique climate and geography?

If it's the former, then why aren't the rest of us experiencing our own frequent and severe climate changes disasters? If it's the latter, then climate change is not the problem - your unique climate and geography is, and you suck so bad at finding ways to deal with the stuff that happens over and over and over.

96 million isn't going to replace the entire fleet. The little town I live in bought just ONE ladder truck a couple of years ago and it cost 1.3 million bucks. Your average run of the mill fire truck probably goes for at least $750,000 now. By the way--the only thing that ladder truck has been used for since it showed up is to hang a big flag off it on 4th of July. The locals call it our million dollar flag pole.
No need for ladder trucks at most houses and they are useless for high rises.

We have only one building that is high enough in town that a ladder truck might be useful. Sadly the ladder wouldn't reach the top floors of it either.
