One of my brother in laws owns a roofing company. He purposely drives a pretty much base Chevy truck with standard wheels, suspension etc. And he totally laughs at the competitors who show up in a blinged out lifted brand new super duty.

He could totally afford one but feels that he doesn’t need to show off.
That's nice. But having the nice truck gets more jobs in some places. And it also doesn't matter if you think it's dumb.

It's fact. And that means the trucks will sell.

What I think doesn’t matter. And yes, some people equate a tricked out $100,000 F250 as success. But that’s how my brother in law approaches it. To each his own.

Just like EVs. Not sure why they trigger so many people and cause them so much anger.

Millions of $100k trucks......with loads of sand and lumber in the back.....

Millions....

Most of the new car lots are still empty around here. Where are they getting all the chips?
Unlike all the other so-called manufacturers, Tesla designs and manufactures their vehicles. They make their own chips.

Yes, the same materials, but Tesla actually owns, designs, and runs the process. They make their parts. Everybody else designs the vehicle, and then goes out to a hundred different contractors to have the parts built. And then they are all assembled at a single plant. Tesla is much more favorably situated against a supply problem.

They still have to get the minerals/metals to make their parts/batteries. Not feasible in the long run.
