General Motors announced it is recalling 107 Chevy Bolt EV and EUV vehicles from model years 2020-2022 due to a potential fire hazard.
The vehicle maker is urging owners to not park cars inside garages, but rather on the street, limit charging the battery to 90 percent and do not let the battery drop below 70 miles of range.

The company also says the Bolts should not be charged overnight, and should be parked outside immediately after they are charged.

Sounds like more then a rare problem. Lmao..

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
I’m not a fan of EV’s at all, but if I were to buy one, it would definitely be a Tesla. They seem to have their stuff together more than any other EV maker.

They're built ground up to be electric.

The big manufacturers have basically just been shoving batteries and electric engines into their existing platforms. They've got a lot of catching up to do.

Fact: most people don’t want EVs. Fact: ICE cars don’t spontaneously combust. If you like them, buy one. But don’t pretend they don’t have some serious issues.

Fact: ICE cars do spontaneously combust. How have you not seen the many recalls in recent years? Look them up. It's actually millions of vehicles. Far exceeding EV recalls.

That's because there are a lot more ICE cars. Recalling millions of vehicles to check them out, maybe replace a part as a precaution isn't the same as millions bursting into flames.

Why do we have to keep talking in circles in this thread? You guys still believe tons of EVs are going up in flames. We can't have a discussion about EVs if we can't deal with facts. Before posting, I suggest easy searches from official statistic databases. It's not hard to find that EV fires are far less common car for car (meaning not because there's less EVs).

But you were suggesting that millions of cars were having fires. That or you just didn't word it right. Recalls happen for all kinds of reasons.

A fire is still extremely rare. Manufacturers have to recall even if there's only a slight possibility that a fire risk can occur. Just like every safety issue in every car.
Oohh not true. It takes more then 20 or 30.
As for how many have truly caught fire. You'd never know yet. This being the reason.

Finding out exactly how many EVs catch fire every year in the U.S. isn't currently possible because there isn't a government agency keeping track of it — at least not publicly.

In other words coming up the issue.

Here is 11 right here. There is no way that this is it. Oh wait there are hundreds of news articles from this past year.

I worded it right, millions of vehicles recalled. Obviously millions didn't catch fire.
But that's just a safety precaution. Doesn't mean they'll all catch fire without the recall. Car companies pay what they have to in the recalls to avoid much greater litigation costs as well as the damage to their reputation.

Most of those recalls are minor issues you can ignore. The car companies are just protecting themselves with the recalls.
