Disagreement is good. His response seemed a bit more emotionally charged than simple disagreement.

That is why I asked.
He’s from New Jersey.

I think something you need to remember is personal responsibility really is important.

Some of us have to deal with our own members who complain about taking a lunch that we fought hard to give them much less the 1 gallon jug that was negotiated.

I am not diminishing the fact that it’s hot in the back of the truck you tell me it’s not because I’ve done it for a long time.

Are you a company kiss up?

Question: Are you answering for yourself or him?

because I know you are not one.

No. I am not.

Have you ever stood up to UPS management for yourself and/or anyone else ?

You ask if I’m a company kissup, then challenge my POV. Fact of the matter, did you sign up for an outdoor job driving a truck that pays over 100 grand? If yes, then take care of your body by adapting to the elements of said out door job. It’s not anyone else’s job but yours to take care of yourself. If you can’t do that, either find another job, or call your union (which I’m sure they cringe when you call) and ask them to “take care of you”.

That explains it. I am very familiar with people from NJ.

I agree personal responsibility is very important.

Where is the 1 gallon jug in the contract? I’d like to review the language.

Back of the trucks should be climate controlled no doubt this is long overdue.

I posted the language on post number 151

Well, I wouldn’t make fun of the back of the truck being climate control because I think that would make a difference. I very seriously doubt the front of the truck having air-conditioning will do much of anything, but that’s just my opinion. Having said that I don’t know of any or anything about the back of the truck getting climate control.

No.

All of this is fine.

Does any of this change UPS responsibilities to it’s employees under the law?

Not crying, trying to figure out the logistics of what you’re suggesting is possible.

We have a 1 gallon jug that was given to us. It’s a pretty nice Coleman here. I don’t know what everyone else got..

The company has added numerous ice machines all over the building great for drivers in the morning and employees throughout the day, but obviously drivers cannot fill up after they leave.

1 gallon jug is pretty big and takes a a bit for all the drivers to get ice and water. I have no idea how anyone could carry or fill a 5 gallon barrel of water lol.

And I do not know of any way to keep ice from melting for more than a few hours in the heat of a package car.
