I have a question for everyone on this board. Can someone please explain the difference between, "Preferred Jobs," and "Bid Jobs." From my understanding, "Preferred Jobs" go to PT Employees, and "Bid Jobs" go to the FT employees. For a PT employee, they can sign a list for any of these preferred jobs when an opening becomes available, and whoever has the highest seniority gets it. Same thing for FT employees on bid jobs, but there are circumstances where drivers get to rebid every six months whereas PT hub workers do not. PT workers fill vacancies and remain in their preferred job so long as they do not switch to another. The reason I ask this question is because I am a PT worker in a preferred job. I assume if I go FT, I should be booted out of my position for my job falls under Section 3 of Article 50 in our Supplementary Contract. I am part of UPS Central PA. Am I correct in the language that these jobs listed below are for PT workers only, and that any PT worker may file grievance to have a FT employee removed from said job? My current position had all FT employees kicked out when they opened my building and transferred people over. I am not trying to upset FT workers, but we are supposed to go by the contract, correct? There are many other jobs that have FT workers in them listed below.
