What do I do with furniture I don't want? How do I get rid of say, one leather couch, two leather chairs, two single beds, one dining room table w/six chairs?
None of it is in good condition. What do I do with it all?
Yeah, but is your whole life "fantastic fuscia"??OMG, my whole life is painting....

So today we had to basically move everything we own........ but not to a new house. The new carpet's being installed Monday, so we had to move everything off the carpet. Everything we own into the kitchen, bathrooms and basement. It took ALL day, and we are beat.
Also filled the Bagster dumpster we bought, mostly with the waterbed. 3 cubic yards IS a lot!
Are you moving closer-in to work? Buying another house?
That is the plan. Depends how much I can get for the Ponderosa. I want to have no more mortgage ever again.
Hot advice in the 401k thread is to move to a third world country, or New Jersey, for pennies on the dollar. You could always commute.
But I'm doing this to drastically cut my commute!!!!
Senior 09, you could take a burro for only a handful of hay and an apple.
But I'm doing this to drastically cut my commute!!!!
Would I need a stick and a string with the apple to make the burro go the right way?
Where do I get rid of an old stamp collection? Haven't looked at it in 25 years, but there's a lot of stuff.
When the carpet installers came, my wife called me to say that they needed to take all the doors off to carpet under them, but they do not put them back in. I said, "No biggie, we can do that".
The REASON they don't put them back in is because often, they will not fit. Like if you get a slightly thicker carpet or pad than the one you're replacing.
I got lucky (kind of...). All of our swinging doors still worked fine, but all our sliding closet doors didn't fit anymore.
Soooooo that was my unanticipated job for today. Cutting 1/4 inch off the bottom of all the closet doors.
