Police Brutality & Executions

Stops,

Read Sobers post again, he stated no police officer has been assaulted by a permit holder.

Wkmac, read my post again.

I was specifically referring to Oregon, since not all states have concealed weapons permit info attached to a persons DMV records, which is relevant in the context of a traffic stop that I was referring to.

I also qualified my statement by stating "that I am aware of" when referring to the lack of assaults on police by carry permit holders.

I feel quite confident in stating that the percentage of assaults on police committed by permit holders is probably comparable (on a per capita basis) to that committed by the Amish.

Never said or addressed that point one way or the other.

Never said or asserted you did or did not.

OK. Never argued either way on that point. I searched after Stops post and I found nothing if that means anything but I'm sorry I didn't limit my search to Oregon.

Stops was posting info regarding crimes committed by permit holders in general and I was just pointing out to him to read your post as it pertains to permit holders assaulting police officers only and not permit holders committing crimes generally. Nothing in his link showed one incident of such and thus my point.

Fair enough. Your post does back up Sober's point as he was only speaking of Oregon and no listing of such is found.

And to be fair, I'm not surprised that there are cases however I don't think there are enough for either side of the gun debate to make an issue of it. For the most part I find both sides of the gun debate typically hysterical and mostly irrational.

I believe in true egalitarianism when it comes to guns in that everyone should be able to be equally armed to one another. The State agent carries a pistol, everyone should be able to carry a pistol. State agent carries a bazooka, everyone carries a bazooka. Here's my favorite, the State has a nuke, EVERYONE gets to have a nuke.

One insanity propels the other and I'll let you figure out which is which.

Sober's first post did not specifically state he was only talking about Oregon. The point I'm making is that it does and will happen. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in la la land.

Not so much a case of brutality but rather a case of a police officer lying that could have ended in the death of a totally innocent person. Or it's brutality by other means.

Woman Exonerated After Spending 22 Years on Death Row Based on Detective’s Lie

It looks like that is more a case of not guilty than innocent. With that cops testimony thrown out there isn't enough evidence to convict but she doesn't look like a squeaky clean mom either.

May be true but are you thus justifying that a cop can just lie because someone doesn't "appear" to the same standards that you do?

If yes, sure seems to destroy the whole action of hand on the bible thingy!

Quote me where I said anything about justifying that cop.
