Preload Methods

Mythical Methods

Just out of curiosity, what are the Preload Methods? I found a list of the Driver Methods on the TDU website. Are they one and the same or different material?

Methods or depth of knowledge?

Methods: Basically what the two above said. Pick up the box, read the label, place the box accordingly and adjust the load as needed.

Depth of knowledge: 8 keys of lifting and lowering -and- 5 keys to preventing slips and falls

Google the two and you'll find them. They're really only important for audits... in practice, the only part of either that regularly gets followed is the 5 keys' "Adjust to necessary conditions," which my building's management has always seemed to interpret as "Disregard everything else you just read and just do the job."

If you're out of shape, though, the 8 keys of lifting and lowering, although completely common sense, will help prevent injury.

Load 4-6 pkgs at a time per car
Match pal label with car then circle
Write hin number on box
Lip load on corresponding shelf, label facing towards the bulkhead door or out.
Keep airs separate.

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge
The keys are whatever ups feels like making up for the week to be honest. You will have 50 different supervisors telling you different things. One will tell you to write on the box another will tell you to make sure the hin number is up. One will tell you to stack out and one will tell you not to. One will tell you to carry 3 or 4 boxes and another will tell you to be safe. One will tell you to emphasize missloads another will say quality. So you really knows.
