The Constitution doesn't mention "Christianity" or "God". Explain that if we're a "Christian" nation.
The Declaration of Independence mentions "Nature's God" but that's pretty vague. Seems a little bit heretical by modern Evangelical standards, actually. "NATURE??"

an argument can be made that the constitution is very pro religion. you can thus infer that this countries leadership was very pro christian since 99 percent of those who immigrated and settled here then were christian. looking for a word in the document does not cover it all
the establishment clause promotes religious freedom by not favoring one over the other. This part of the establishment clause is usually ignored by religious haters who are quick to promote the part that mentions seperation of church and state.
the free exercise clause protects the rights of the individuals to practice their religion as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others
