Everyone knows about Trump's personality. But that has nothing to do with how Covid was handled in places like California or New York.
As the head of the NIH it was Fauci's job along with the head of the CDC. Who else was supposed to? As time went on Trump might should've fired him but he was supposed to be the expert. Easy to Monday morning quarterback it but not so easy in the midst of a health crisis to make those calls.

I am not Monday morning I said this since day one. Trump was in charge if he couldn’t discern that ymthen I don’t trust his judgment.
You want local governance and no national government yet want a president to exercise authority he doesn't have. Health crisis are handled locally. Trump couldn't tell Gavin Newsom or Mario Cuomo what to do.

Please cite the Constitutional authority given the president in such matters? We don't elect a king and he has Constitutional limits on what he can do.
And it wasn't a national shutdown. It was local shutdowns. Are you not aware that in South Dakota and Florida they handled it very differently than in the big liberal states?

The Federal government assisting local governments in a crisis isn't the same as the president is in charge and makes the decisions. There's no Constitutional authority and you wouldn't want that Federal overreach whether it's Trump, Biden, or any other president. Please stop, you're starting to sound silly because you don't understand separation of powers. It's why folks like you attack the Federal government because you don't understand or appreciate the brilliance of the U.S. Constitution.
