Re: Obamanomics

Lessons in Welfare...

I recently asked my friends' 12 year old daughter what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States . Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So I asked her, "If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?" She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."
Her parents beamed.
"Wow. . .what a worthy goal," I told her. I said, "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, trimm the hedges and sweep my driveway, and I'll pay you $50. . . Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house for him."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

WAL-MART VERSUS THE MORONS

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every
day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day
(March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears +
Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private
Employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of
the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined,
and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 supermarket chains
sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in
the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are
Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 Years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will
occur At a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population
is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the
ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who
run Wal-Mart to Fix the economy.

THIS SHOULD BE READ AND UNDERSTOOD BY ALL AMERICANS DEMOCRATS,
REPUBLICANS, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of
the Legislature,

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775.You have had 234
years to get it right and it is BROKE.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to
get it right and it is BROKE.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get
it right and it is BROKE.

War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it
right; 1$ trillion of our money is confiscated each year and
transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

>>> Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44
years to get it right and they are BROKE.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get
it right and it is BROKE.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen
our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to
16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import
more oil than ever before. (my personal favorite)

You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal FAILURE.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down
our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH
A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, CAR COMPANIES OR ANYTHING
ELSE??

Re: Obamanomics

Anything in the new bill that addresses Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae ?? Haven't seen it yet, but I'm told they weren't addressed. Wouldn't you think the original troublemakers would at least be addressed in this bill???

Re: Obamanomics

that should tighten up the money supply and slow down employment even more. Kind of like putting mag wheels on car with a blown engine.

If you were a conservative, and go by the old time rules.... banks make profit by savings and loans..... (they pay 2% interest on savings, and charge up to 20% on loans, even more if you include visa and mastercard into it).

So, do these banks have the right to gamble all that money away on Wall Street, and if they lose, the government will help ?

So, you tell me, whats conservative and what liberal is, regarding the US banking system ?

I consider the Canadian Banking system totally conservative. They are not allowed to gamble more then 10% of their net assests in speculation.
But, I could be wrong, you might call that socialisum ?

CNSNews.com — New federal regulations issued this week stipulate that the electronic health records — that all Americans are supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year — must record not only the traditional measures of height and weight, but also the Body Mass Index: a measure of obesity.
The obesity-rating regulation states that every American’s electronic health record must: “Calculate body mass index. Automatically calculate and display body mass index (BMI) based on a patient’s height and weight.”
The law also requires that these electronic health records be available — with appropriate security measures — on a national exchange.

Re: Obamanation here today

Do as I say, not as I do......

Obamas are on vacation. He told the country to go to the Gulf Coast and support the Gulf businesses. So he goes to Maine......could hardly get further away unless he chose Canada.
What a hypocrite !!:dissapointed:

Re: Obamanation here today

I do have to agree that it would have been much better public relations had the Obamas gone to the Gulf instead of Maine. Maine is beautiful but the Gulf would have gotten a much needed boost in tourism if the Obamas had gone there instead. Someone definitely dropped the ball there.

(Rasmussen)- Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters nationwide now expect the cost of health care to go up under the health care reform law, the highest level of pessimism measured since the law was passed in March.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows only 17% expect the cost of health care to go down under the new law, while another 17% expect costs to stay about the same.
At the end of June, 52% of voters expected health care costs to increase under the new law. Just after the bill was signed into law in March, 55% felt that way. The number of voters who expect costs to go down under the new plan has stayed within a narrow range of 17% to 21%.
Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters now favor repeal of the law, while 38% oppose repeal. Those numbers include 47% who Strongly Favor repeal and 25% who are Strongly Opposed.
The percentage that favors repeal is up slightly from last week but remains consistent with findings since the law’s passage. Support for repeal has ranged from 52% to 63%.

(Boston Globe)- The relentlessly rising cost of health insurance is prompting some small Massachusetts companies to drop coverage for their workers and encourage them to sign up for state-subsidized care instead, a trend that, some analysts say, could eventually weigh heavily on the state’s already-stressed budget.
Since April 1, the date many insurance contracts are renewed for small businesses, the owners of about 90 small companies terminated their insurance plans with Braintree-based broker Jeff Rich and indicated in a follow-up survey that they were relying on publicly-funded insurance for their employees.

And this was the model for Obamacare ?
