BTW, his losses were value associated losses based on the real estate crash of the time.

It's like saying someone is a failure if they ended up underwater on their mortgage in 2008.

I am demoralized to hear that a billionaire lost a billion dollars thirty years ago. I can no longer support the trump he was thirty years ago.

I'm sure he had successes then too , the guys that works the money knows how to show losses to take advantage of the existing tax laws.
It was people like Trump and the practices he and others used that necessitated the publicly funded bailout of the Wall Street banks and perhaps explains the push for the repeal of Glass Steagall . Investment banks were getting stiffed for highly speculative loans .

I haven't lost 1.17 billion.
You would think at least one thing ventured would have been successful
When Trump's New Jersey gambling fiasco failed the banks wanted to foreclose on his casinos. The only thing that saved him was NJ Gambling Commission ruled that the banks could foreclose but because of NJ gambling laws banks were prohibited from owning your operating gambling houses. .

Hell, you probably haven't lost $1.17 since you are a molly cocked and mollycoddled little ball of fear.
You are a Democrat just like Trump was when he lost billions of dollars.
He has been very successful ever since he became a Republican.
You could have called him slightly stoopid and been done with it. Less keystrokes, are you responding to yerself?

You get no pass simply because we seem to agree on most things. Please list the shady things he did. I truly would like to be informed.

its actually an argument that can go either way.

congress passed that law and others as Bush was leaving office. your bill you listed passed in October of 2008 .
Other relief bills at the time were passed and signed after Obama became the president elect. Obama and Bush conferred on those.

So you can blame one or the other or both if you choose.

I blame both

So he doesn’t make things up on purpose?
Call it making it up if you want to but what I am looking at is what changes in law we may see after this matter is finally settled. One I hope to see is a fully funded IRS with money and rule of law sufficient to stop abuses and system gaming on the part of extremely wealthy people who comprise the "Mobile Republic".
