So while we’re waiting for ‘Providence’ to fund our Military, where does the money come from now?
Fine if all services began and ended at the state line. No interstate highways unless tolled at the state line Utilities would be fine too if all remained in state . The need for specialized medical procedures were all done in state. No goods and services went beyond state lines. No out of state students could attend college. State national guards could not be federalized at a time war. People suspected of having an infectious disease could be stopped and turned around at the state All food is grown and inspected instate. And the great part is the individual states can do this all by themselves without that annoying injection of federal dollars.

I don't see how. All of his New jersey casinos have gone bankrupt and closed. When they began failing he converted to a public stock corporation hoping that Joe Q Public was too stupid to see the con and bid his stock up high enough to save him......He wasn't .

The federal government's scope and power should be limited, just as the Constitution laid it out.
Everything else should be handled at the state and local level.
Failing that, it should be ratified by a vote of the entire country.

Soooo, if the Federal Governments only responsibility is National Defense, we should fund the Nationalized Military with State and Local taxes and fees?

Then what about interstate commerce, the interstate spread of infectious diseases (measles) maritime traffic, national elections , civil defense , public health and sanitation, public utilities etc. drug interdiction, banking regulation etc ? These are all multi state endeavors that requires federal oversight or the states would be lock in litigation battles for decades over these and similar issues.

Why do we need an IRS for interstate highway funds? Start a go fund me you jerk.
To build interstates you need funding primarily bonds that are backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government . And to do that you have to have a way to repay those bonds. That in turn requires revenues in the form of taxes and a way to collect them.

You live in a world where things work...
You’re generally not worried about your electricity, or water, or safety.
Yes, yes, so many things are screwed up, and so many things need fixing, but you’re taking for granted how well our society in the US actually functions.
We fight around the margins about hot-button issues like gay rights and abortion, etc., but for the most part, I can get in my car and drive across the entire country with little to stop me...gas stations everywhere, no check-points, the electricity works, the roads are paved...
You take that for granted, but it’s huge.
One of the reasons our society works as well as it does is that we all share in the upkeep of the infrastructure of it...(not really, but close enough).
In the world you’re pushing for, there are repercussions you haven’t even imagined.

Could not have said it better. Wrong and too many others take way too many essential public services for granted and chances are it's because they have been available for as long as he has been alive.
