President Trump

You don't get it, everyone in the campaign had their own agenda
But were they able to make money on their agenda? The cashing in part comes with winning. Notice that much of the Clinton Foundation funding dried up after she lost. Where are all the companies and governments wanting to pay Bill $750k to speak now that Hillary is not the President?

Cohen looks to be sleazy but he's a lawyer. Those pretty much go hand in hand. He may not have done anything illegal or even unethical (by lawyer standards) but certainly looks bad. Whoever leaked bank information undoubtedly broke the law. Plus Avenatti is an even bigger sleaze and has regularly been flinging crap hoping something will stick.
The agree I gave you was an agreement in part. Lawyers are held to high ethical standards, which rise above criminal jeopardy. A lawyer can be sanctioned or disbarred without violating criminal code.

Lawyers should be held to a higher standard but they can know about how to follow the letter of the law but not the spirit. There are good lawyers but way too many shady ones too.

Understood on the opinion comment. You have the guy tried and convicted of no violation of law. We agree on most things, on this we don't.
I'm saying it came out he approached a bunch of corporations saying he had special access to the President and could do a better job than lobbyists getting things done for them. The corporations are saying he said this. You don't put someone on trial for things they might do in the future. You put them on trial for what they're accused of now. Of course the Press is going to run with this. There was excitement that this somehow tied Trump to a Russian bigwig. Thought they had the smoking gun. Doesn't absolve Cohen just because they got that wrong. It may very well be nothing happens to Cohen because it might expose too much the kind of deals that are commonplace in Washington. But it's sleazy to trade on your position whether it's a fixer or a Secretary of State. I worked for hourly wages. Aren't the fat salaries these people make enough?

I'm sure some did but not at the behest of Trump

Cohen made money based on being close to trump. Believe it or not people and companies will pay you for that. He didn't make that money by being a lawyer

What you fail to understand is the Clinton's set up this foundation for the express purpose of getting funds. It started out as a fund to build Bill's presidential library and morphed into something else as Hillary still had political influence based on her elected and nominated positions in government.

It sounds like Cohen tried to trade in on his position but when those companies found out he could do nothing for them they terminated the contracts. Also had nothing to do with Trump or the election.

And went belly up when Hillary lost and couldn't sell more favors.

Not saying Trump was involved. But we can't go on about the shady dealings of the Obama administration and think Trump's administration is all high minded and noble. We've already had Cabinet Secretaries booted for living the high life at taxpayer expense. After what was going on with Hillary to be acting like it was their turn to enjoy the perks was just stupid.

Well aware. She used Foundation funds to fly in private jets everywhere, stay in the nicest accommodations, eat the best food. And apparently pay for Chelsea's wedding. It was their cash cow while the speeches funded their bank accounts.

Understood.
You preach to the choir, not sure if many more have ears to hear however.

That one pharmaceutical corporation said they couldn't get out of his contract without cause so paid him $1.2 million even though they realized he couldn't deliver.

It would help if someone of her stature took a fall for misdeeds. Would serve as an example that no one is above the law. But probably not going to happen because it might expose the backroom deals most are benefiting from. Recently came out about the huge deals family members of Congressmen are getting. A way to circumvent current law. And it appears a lot of them are doing it.
