From what I have seen on this, asylum seekers are not affected.
The affected people are the ones trying to sneak into the U.S. Illegally.
“So the idea of zero tolerance under the stated policy is that we don’t care why you’re afraid. We don’t care if it’s religion, political, gangs, anything. For all asylum seekers, you are going to be put in jail, in a detention center, and you’re going to have your children taken away from you. That’s the policy.”

Asylum was never intended for everyone who claims persecution. And it's being used as an angle to get in. If Honduras and El Salvador go to war and civilians get displaced or worse, they have without a doubt a reason to seek asylum. That their governments are corrupt and they are poor, etc isn't a legitimate reason. In Tijuana, Mexico in 2017 more than 1700 people got murdered. Think about that. Does that give every resident in Tijuana the right to seek asylum in the U.S.?

I couldn’t care less about their votes. The practice is disgusting. Hurting children in the name of law and order is shameful.
I highly doubt you don't care. Getting every illegal alien citizenship is a priority of the Democrat Party and they will use every means possible, demagogue every issue possible, to make that happen.

By that “logic” you don’t care how much harm you cause to children to keep them from voting. Torture is A OK as long the victims don’t vote for democrats. Latinos don’t vote much anyway, they are extremely unreliable voters, but don’t let data interfere with your thinking.

Pretty much written in stone that dependent welfare recipients vote. By the way Cubans are very reliable voters.

If Latinos know that their children will be taken from them, and they come anyways, aren't they responsible for the child's "torture?"

That’s twisted logic.

I’m making a generalization here, but ‘Latinos’ are just as likely to vote for R as D, because, guess what, they’re people.

not really , your guys coach illegals on what to say to take advantage of the system.

Sessions has now found a way to provide another deterrent to illegal immigration.

surprise , surprise the deterrence is to actually enforce the existing laws.

As you like to say, ‘you really have the talking points down’.

It’s nonsense, but don’t let that stop you.

Again, we can enforce the rule of law without separating families.

Latinos aren't monolithic, but by far the only Latino ethnic group that votes majority Republican are the Cubans.

The rampant drug and gang violence, clearly.

US policies had a large hand in the spread and growth of MS-13, and the chickens are coming home to roost.
The rampant drug and gang violence is mostly between gangs. Just as in Mexico if you aren't in the drug business you are highly unlikely to be touched by cartel violence.

Aside from the cruelty of it, it also seems pointless and counterproductive.

yea you libs always want us to ignore existing law

who knew that we would deter illegal immigration simply by enforcing and following the existing law :)
