Why are the automakers fighting it. Just make more electric cars. Gm does not need permission to do so.
You do know it was a link to an article you could read, right?

“Honda went on to say the plan, which would include revoking California's authority to set its own greenhouse gas standards for cars, "invites litigation and regulatory uncertainty, stalls long-term strategic industry planning, puts at risk American global competitiveness, exacerbates climate-related environmental impacts, and slows industry readiness for a widely acknowledged - but extremely difficult to implement - transition to vehicle electrification."

Reading that would take thoughtful consideration and an acknowledgment that simply being anti-regulation is just plain stupid.

Like a true pseudo conservative you too will blame Democrats for all of your troubles but in the end you'll go sign up for every Democrat sponsored social program you can qualify for and be glad for it because chances are you'll starve to death without it. Why? Because in the end you too will grow old and will need care more extensive that what will be available to you at home. So where's the mostly likely place you end up going to? A nursing home . Now at current prices a year in a skilled care nursing facility will set you back about a 100K. Plan accordingly . And not if but when you run out of money what will you do? Like most others you'll turn to Medicaid when you're money's all gone. That's of course unless you have a so called "living will" I don't know why they're called 'living" when the entire purpose is to state for the record that you want to die instead.
The policies you keep citing were passed in a different era with a different Democrat party. The party you cling to is no longer your father's party. Has gone off the rails with far left socialist nonsense. I can point to the policies you bring up and say great ideas, glad your party passed them way back when. They insured that people didn't slave away for a lifetime and had nothing to show for it. I look at what's being passed off as good ideas today and I see idiocy that's designed to create dependency but will ultimately drag the country down. Is that what you support? If we can't all live like the rich we must destroy everything to get even with the rich?

So the parties change.

Been a long time since the republicans were the party of Lincoln. Or Reagan for that matter.

You just can’t admit you’re wrong. The plans don’t exist, I can’t buy one. You’ve provided nothing that shows otherwise only explanations of what the plans could be. It’s ok, every year I spend a solid week researching both employer and individual health insurance plans, you check a box to enroll in your employer provided plan. It’s ok to admit you don’t really understand the complexities of the system.
He probably does understand or have a feeling for the complexities, just a guess on my part.

Pertaining to the part in red, I thought you were the employer. Who is your employer and you have said ACA was not insurance. Can you square this circle for me. I'm just an ignorant 5 o'clock'er.

Johnson needed Republicans to get civil rights legislation passed. And Lincoln's economic policies were very much in line with today's Republicans. Heck, JFK's economic policies were more in line with today's Republicans than today's Democrats.
