Conspiracy theory. You think UPS wouldn’t mind a strike. Get rid of some volume , less drivers , keep high end accounts , just get a little leaner ?

Possible if it works out this way:

Daily revenue loss < Daily wage + benefits paid out to Union boys.

Stock prices will drop but someone will buy on the cheap. Can you imagine if Blackrock or some hedge funds are waiting to pound?

UPS is well run at the end of the day. Good pay and benefits. They would easily rebound and maybe even be stronger

Not a chance. In business, the number you constantly chase is revenue. Revenues allow a company to find profits. Profits are the result of a productive and efficient process. UPS is simply trying to secure the most cost efficient contract in order to extract profit from revenue.

Yes this. Some of the media is hyping the $42 an hour. They need to know that it takes 5 years to get to that rate. Imagine making $21 an hour for the same work if not more since most new people will get the crap routes more often than an 5 year driver that has the seniority for an easier route which still isn't easy. It's a rough road to get to top rate. Let alone the inside guys making 1/3 of that and only getting 4 hours a day. The public has no idea. The media twist isn't helping either.
Public support seems to be on the teamsters side, O’Brien was on a number of morning tv shows yesterday getting the word out, check out ups Twitter posts and the public comments. Ups tries to talk about driver compensation being the highest in the industry yet that narrative isn’t sticking, part time pay is what the public is focusing on.

I've had many of my customers saying that they hope that we don't go on strike but have we get a good contract because we work hard.

The public just wants their :censored2: delivered without damages.
Public opinion is that UPS is too expensive and too many damages.
