So quick question.

How were you in the office when the discipline was happening?

Because one of two things is true here. Either you were on the receiving end of the discipline.
Or you are lying.

You wouldn't be in the office while an employee was being disciplined unless no steward was available, and the disciplinee chose you as their hourly witness.

But you've already said the steward was there, so I ask. Were you getting written up, or are you lying?

You overlooked one other possibility, that maybe @qdg2 was actually the steward in the room in these situations?

A lot of folks get banned and warned for such..."don't make it personal".....antagonistic too.....

By the way....I've been in the office within sight and earshot of many disciplinary "hearings" and actions. From verbal to written.
We didn't have a conference room nearby.....doors weren't always shut and other business was being conducted....right there. Saw plenty of shouting and arguing right in the open.

I think you're full of it.
When new people come onto this site, and see bloviation about the inaction and impotence of the union, it's not fair, and it disenfranchises the members.

I think you've got a grudge, or an agenda, and I think you're willing to get creative with your "experiences" to fit that narrative.

Around here, they had stewards running the safety committee's.

Problem was....the stewards (here)(don't know about ANYWHERE else) were so far up mgt.'s butt....couldn't tell if they had been promoted. Yeah.....that bad. No? Oh yes........and EVERYONE KNEW IT. Yes, some of the highest seniority guys with a couple young ones in training.

Brownnose.....you bet.....vaunted "stewards". My agenda? Hardly. This went on in plain sight....still going on. Hell, one of em retired and is working for mgt. in retirement right now!

I sat in many safety meetings and watched this go on. So much so....I quit going. Bootlicking doesn't even begin to describe it.

No? Absolutely. See, this oh so cozy arrangement nets much office time. Meetings, lot's of fried chicken and pizza.....lot's of A/C. Golf carts....
