Racism rears its ugly head

Why would it get violent that would be the protestors own doing.

All I'm saying is this is very bad for the future of college athletics. What if the 4 playoff teams this year decide to protest until they are paid to play the game?

Those football players are there on scholarships. If they refuse to play then make them pay for their own tuition.

what he said. Once they accept that scholarship they agree to represent that school positively. If they then discover they don't like the head of that school then void the scholarship and go elsewhere.

That makes absolutely no sense especially coming from a union worker.

It absolutely makes sense. Especially for a union worker. Those players had a contract where they got free tuition for playing. If they don't play they break the contract. Same thing would happen to union workers. You have rights but also responsibilities.

anyway this is precedent setting . The witch hunt is now on. If some employee anywhere utters a racial slur then the president of that organization will now either be expected to run a gestapo like inquisition or risk losing his job.

If you're for free speech wasn't the student that yelled the N word free to say what he wanted?

Sure he was. He was also free to face the consequences.

The students who committed acts of racism should face the consequences. The university did not endorse or condone those actions but are getting blamed for them.

Since one of the acts was a swastika why weren't the Jewish students also protesting? That would seem to target them more than blacks.

might have been a hindu religious symbol:) there are many versions of the "swastika" symbol not all represent the Nazi hate symbol
