Given all the known facts so far, one would normally start to think that it was a deliberate collision.
So now the question becomes who on that plane was being assassinated ?

I wonder if it was an ATC error? What do you think @Lineandinitial ?
ATC tried to warn the copter it but apparently they were on a different frequency. It sounds like it was 100% the copter pilots fault.

So far it sounds to me like the ATC asked the helicopter if they saw a plane. Helicopter said yes but they were looking at the wrong plane. ATC should have specifically asked the helicopter if they could see the plane to their left. Helicopter was looking in a different direction.

Poor communication but the biggest responsibility was still on the helicopter pilot. No way a commuter jet on final approach could dodge even if they saw the helicopter.

From my friend, who is an American Airlines pilot.

“I've flown to DCA many times, and there are low altitude helicopters all over the place along the river. I had to stop my descent a couple times around 400 ft due to a traffic warning from the plane about helicopters. ATC had told us they were there but they were not supposed to be close enough to pop the warning and force us to stop decending so close to the runway. But they were. They need to change the corridors for all the helicopters”

If they were using night vision goggles it would have affected their peripheral vision, they didn’t see the jet coming. The helicopter’s altitude may of been higher than normal for that area, definitely it was human error. The final judgment will be placed on ATC…

It was a systemic failure but they will find someone low level to blame.

Lawyers for the victims are already smelling the big lawsuit.

This is diversity’s fault. This is equity’s fault. This is inclusion’s fault. It’s obvious.

It's not ridiculous to question whether it is when skin color, disability, etc have been prioritized over merit in federal hiring over last few years.

Who said the FAA was or is prioritizing diversity over qualifications and training?

This is just another cheap racist snipe from our Psycho-in-Chief. He knows his base loves it when he talks like this.
