If they were using night vision goggles it would have affected their peripheral vision, they didn’t see the jet coming. The helicopter’s altitude may of been higher than normal for that area, definitely it was human error. The final judgment will be placed on ATC…

Nothing has been confirmed on who is responsible, lawsuits will be brought for sure if they find any evidence of wrongdoing or cover up. The ATC in control will have it rough, you cannot be perfect all the time, everyone makes mistakes. There has to be devices on both the plane and helicopter that would have warned that they were on a collision course or even at the same altitude. It will probably be decided that there were multiple mistakes by different people. We just have to make sure it doesn’t happen again…

If people are hired based on who they are instead of whether they are the most qualified, most capable, most experienced then should that be taken into consideration or should it be ignored? If you get on a plane which consideration above is the most important to you? I don't care what a person's race, gender, etc are as long as that person was not only the best they could find but his/her abilities are comparable with others doing the job who are the best they can be.

We know the names of the (male) crew members but they haven’t released the name of the woman co pilot for some reason, the crew chief had over 1,000 hrs the co - pilot also in training had 500. Both were being tested/trained, the question is who was handling the copter when the crash occurred ?

I do not know what the procedures are on training flights. Till we know facts it will be hard to find out really happened. Everyday the blame is being passed and a lot of has to do with manning and politics, apparently the tower was undermanned, how many hours did the ATC work that week and if they were overworked.

Quota filling hiring has been going on for over 50 years. As a college grad, veteran, white male, I experienced white women, black women and men, getting "the job" and not me.
The last application I filled out before getting on with UPS was an Aluminum Plant. Employed around 2000 people. The application had a "voluntary "page you could fill out. It had all the DEI boxes to check. By now, what I was going through and why I wasn't getting a job anywhere was obvious and laughable to me.
I wrote my first name as Pat,(not my real name) checked every minority box I could. I was a black disabled female. They called me for an interview. Killer. I never went. Doing casual at UPS.
