its a heavy regulating stifling piece of legislation that chokes the free market. the information is out there you choose not to expose yourself to it.

A Free Market Healthcare Revolution: Why And How

The end of Obamacare: Fixing healthcare the free-market way
Neither of those articles are very compelling. They both boil down to, if people just saved money to pay for everything out of pocket, everything would be cheaper. It's insane. The expectation being that most people could just sock away a couple hundred grand to pay for things like surgeries and hospitalization. Completely impractical. Neither article is actually discussing the current proposed legislation either, just basic theory that's never been tried or tested.

Conservatives used to be in favor of small incremental change to federal law. They feared unintended consequences to legislation and would study issues in depth. The current law has hardly been seen by anyone and will dramatically impact the entire country. So much for principles.

You might have to give one of those hats to UPS itself. Careful in assuming what UPS might be for and against. Cap and Trade is really more business than it is environment. UPS also has a large "Sustainability" section within the Engineering function devoted among other things to being green and yes, even reducing the UPS carbon footprint.

UPS carbon neutral
FedEx makes a show of it too. But bottom line a carbon tax is going to cost companies like UPS a huge amount of money.

You are not good at debating. Try defending the actual republican bill and the process that produced it. Try reading up on it and then using your own words to describe how it will help people.

Or just keep saying, "hurr durr, liberals suck."

That might be true but it could also serve to curtail start ups from entering the marketplace and posing a competition threat so it might actually be a cheap cost in the long run. Not all regulations are what they might first appear.

Gotta wonder why Exxon is pushing for it...

They see the writing on the wall, and want to be first in line to shape the regs...

What ever the reason, they will make a lot of money which IMO raises serious questions about the whole damn thing and its real intended purpose. Follow the money!

Besides, both the democrats and the republicans are the corporatist party so that in itself raises a red flag.

And there is this as well. If you can corner the market, getting in early is the best approach as you use the State and the public purse to limit competitors rather than having to compete against them or buy the out. Socialism by Capitalist means.
