Oh sure. It's not great by any means. But I'm willing to give up some to maintain controlYes I'd much rather have control of the money.
I meant more 3.5% isty compared to what they put in our pension on our behalf.

Better than getting a letter saying they're cutting your benefits by 50%. At least my financial security is in my hands and not some fund manager

Let's say your salary is 70k. You put in 3.5%. That's $2450 a year. The company would match 100% of that money.

I just pulled up my benefits and you are right, I was wrong. I was thinking 18000/3.5%.
And for a nice change of pace I have more money in there than I thought. So that was a pleasant surprise.

I didn't give up anything. Do you honestly believe there will be a pension by the time I hit 35 years, especially in the central? I certainly don't.

Mgmt pension has something to do with your salary at retirement. But it's only funded at 87.01%
