Saturday Air/optional holidays

Hello, I'm brand new here. I've been a preloader for almost 6 years and I am now an air driver as well. I was told that if you have an optional holiday on a Friday, you are guaranteed Saturday off. Anybody ever heard this? I'm off Friday and being forced to work Saturday.

The only time in my building where that is enforced is the Friday after Thanksgiving. At one time we had a jerk for a Saturday Air supervisor and almost every PTer DQ themselves from driving. The company had to use and pay FT drivers at OT for years until UPS recruited enough PT again. Sup was later fired.

We had a guy who called in on a Friday after Thanksgiving because he didn't want to work. He almost never drove again which was a big hit on payday as he was pretty high on seniority (right below me).

And he was a Union steward. UPS would just use me and give him all the dirt work. UPS can make your job very unpleasant if they want to.
