socialized healthcare

Yeah, we've heard it all before out of you but in the end you'll still go down and sign up for that evil, socialist healthcare plan called Medicare that's if you can continue to work until your 65 and by your own admission you don't know if you will be able. Soooo if that were to happen and your application for SSD is denied which means that even if approved you would still have to wait two years to get on Medicare and the public buy into Medicare option was approved and it's simply that an OPTION and it happens to be your ONLY option.......you'd be all over it .
Geeezus ... buy a new album and quit playing the same damn song over and over!!
Boooorrinnnnng
Still interesting enough for you to continue reading it.
This is what I read ... "Yeah, we've heard it all before out of you but in the end you'll still go down and sign up for that evil, socialist healthcare plan called Medicare "
Seriously!

Nope, I'm going overseas if I ever need to pay out of pocket.

There's no denying the fact that it's socialist in design and nature . Yet, everyday another clucker will jump up and start hollering, "socialism, socialism",we're becoming a socialist nation"!!! All the while drawing Social Security and Medicare.
The other day I encountered this clucker who was hollering the same Fox News line about government being too big, too invasive, etc.etc. I asked him what he did for a living. His answer: "I work for the state" .

You know paying in is not optional right?
I'm all for making it optional if that's what you're suggesting. Boomer morons voted for the two parties that ran the system into the ground they should have their payouts cut drastically. Let young people out.

The nuance you missed is that when people say 'Government', they are referring to the National Government.

Now, you that you have this missing bit of understanding, you can rethink your stances
and 'ignorant' posts. :wink-very:

If you go to the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries and see what socialism did for them you might not be so high on it. Unfortunately a lot of people have to find things out the hard way.

Good point ... one thing I've prided myself from when I was even a young teenager was learning from others mistakes.

They can't seem to grasp that programs like Medicare can be paid for in an environment where business can flourish and prosper. But overreaching with expanded programs for all, and using confiscatory taxation to pay for it, putting business on ever stricter regulations to milk them dry, will only cause an eventual collapse of what made the original programs possible. I know you know this, just putting it out there for consideration.

Another factor that even the Socialist Bernie Sanders understands is that the US Borders must be secured in order for Socialist programs to work.

Even the biggest ships can be swamped if they take on too much weight. When I was a kid in Florida we had one minimal shopping plaza and the downtown. Electricity often went out in storms. Had three channels off an antenna. No air conditioning. And got along fine. These other countries may lag behind us in development but they are developing. With the added advantage of modern communications. If jobs don't pay its because their leaders hog all the wealth. We fought for things in this country, they can too. It's not the United States' responsibility to bring in hundreds of millions who want a better life.

Is it our responsibility to supply weapons and fight proxy wars?

We could fix it if we desired, and make the entire hemisphere a safe, healthy, place to live. People don’t normally want to leave their homes.

Where do you get ‘hundreds of millions’ from?

If we have open borders eventually we'll swell up to who knows how many. Not our job to fix every country out there. We don't have the money.

By the way, where are we fighting a proxy war right now?
