SSD's (PVD's) implemented 6-7 weeks from Christmas. New contract already ignored?

I own a ag business...just want something to do in the winter months. Pretty sure thats a real job
Bub we’re just having fun with a newbie on this site. We respect the AG folks and their work ethic. It’s not an easy field to be in.

As older drivers we aren’t super fans of PVD language. We would ideally prefer you to be able to work full time with the rest of us.

Not really, this is a job we do for 20 and 30+ years. I’ve seen many people not make it due to injuries, miss important family events, kids ball, games, girls dance recitals, not make it in time for a loved one that was passing away. I’ve seen many people have nervous breakdowns on route while their life is spinning out of control Home. I have a great respect for people who do this job for this many years. It’s not a complaint. It’s just a reality.

Someone who works here a couple weeks out of the year pretending he does what we do even the comparison is ridiculous.
I HAVE NEVER discredited any UPS employee for what they have done, or what it takes to do it year round. I appreciate everyones work for when I get my deliveries. My main post was asking. When are UPS employees ok with PVDs? There are complaints of overwork during peak, but dont want PVDs to take hours from them..where is the balance?

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

That’s the price we paid to keep the job. You described what every senior driver has done or seen. It galls me too that a scab that works a few weeks acts entitled. Entitled to what? Nothing.

Then dont talk about how your work condtions are any worse than anyone elses

Okay is this the way this is going to go?!? I was stating a fact! You don’t have the experiential knowledge to come on here and begin making observations and judgments on situations that you are not qualified to make! You can have your opinion but your style and attitude will give you less and less credibility! This isn’t the way to go about this and if you keep it up you’ll get banned! FYI! Just giving you some advice. Take it or leave it!

Most of us never wanted PVDs. we wanted the company to hire seasonal drivers deliver just like they always did. wearing browns and delivering out of package cars and rentals.
Most of those people unlike you are looking for a full-time position and want to continue on with the company.

And the craziest part of all of it is, if you had a supervisor or management person, who actually gave a damn it was rare.

I did, just asking what the balance is to make route drivers happy from being overworked during peak
I told you what most of us think the balance should’ve been.

The company I started working for would never in 1 million years have thought it was reasonable or smart, to tarnish the shield by delivering out of their own personal vehicle.

Im honestly not trying to start beef, and as said prior...I respect the work that you all do for year round work, and peak is a stressful time. Just when is a PVD really wanted/needed or make the workload easier to make route better?
