SSD's (PVD's) implemented 6-7 weeks from Christmas. New contract already ignored?

Im honestly not trying to start beef, and as said prior...I respect the work that you all do for year round work, and peak is a stressful time. Just when is a PVD really wanted/needed or make the workload easier to make route better?
Depends on the person. To me…never, to some others?

Contractually the company can do it for a very small timeframe.

I understand that, that why im not trying to sling mud. If I didnt have the biz, I prob would drive full time
I get it. Some of us are in rural areas and recognize the seasonal factors in economic employment. Some of the posts come across as a comparison between driving a personal vehicle is the same as driving a package car. It’s not. We’re talking a different language.

NOT TRYING TO COMPARE...a couple year ago, a town about 60 miles away was short staffed for rural. I went to help, took 30 stops with a 60 mile span delivery radius just after a blizzard. The roads werent plowed, and snow was hitting skid plate on truck, it was crazy

As mentioned, I was just asking a question to all drivers about PVDs. I got my answers (good, and bad), but all is well. I wish everyone a safe, and well remaining peak season, and wish you all a merry christmas, and happy holidays!!

Was funny, on the news today they mentioned a yr ago it was -25 (actual temp) before windchill. Not fun
It’s been warm outside lately.
I knew you weren’t coming from the east coast. Yeah last year was rough.

Many on this site are retired and a bunch of them work on the preload. Let me give some advice. Avoid comparing one job to another. Many are long time employees that have crazy hours and work difficult shifts. Posting here is our hobby
Don’t rock the ship.

I never compared my employement to a full time employee, I just asked when PVDs are wanted/needed during peak to relieve excess to full time without impeeding regular route, and avoid exhaustion, time away from fam, etc. My job is definitly not like a full time, yr round employee, I totally understand that.
