i thought he was anti union though
And, what?
Guy, tariffs won't bring back the steel industry here in the states.
That ship has sailed.

they dont realize we are the number one destination for Chinese goods
Luckily the US is the only country that can impose tariffs. smh.they dont realize we are the number one destination for Chinese goods
Lose? All I know is China and other countries have been dumping steel and nothing made of steel is getting cheaper for the consumer. All you Trumpatistas don't realize it's a global economy, no matter what Trump thinks or what Obama did.
This is real life, friends.
Real trade will go on no matter what Trump says or actually does.
Shouldn't shock y'all that people in Trump's own administration are advising him that this is a lose-lose, but that never stopped Trump, did it?

china gots nowhere to put their excess steel so they ship it here at a cheap. Unfortunately u.s companies buy it and it causes problems for are companies. In the end this will hopefully restrict Chinese steel coming hereWe should probably Nationalize our Steel production, in terms of National Security, etc.
Let's be clear, we don't want Chinese Steel in our battleships, amirite?
We can't compete on a global scale with steel anymore, but we need steel, so...
nobody is going to notice a minimal price increase on something. It won't be a major impact on price but hopefully a win for the steel industryWe should probably Nationalize our Steel production, in terms of National Security, etc.

depends on how much they ship and what american companies do in responseThat makes so little sense.
A tariff would only make cheap Chinese steel slightly more expensive.
It won't revive the US steel industry.
Yes, people won't mind paying a tiny bit more for Chinese steel.
