Storming the Capitol

So the guy who supposedly incited an insurrection is the same guy who ordered extra protection for the inauguration that he wasn't attending? Ok.
The Secret Service, FBI Capital Police and U.S . Marshalls are responsible for bringing in the extra security. They sure as hell were not going to go ask Dear Leader to approve it . They simply ignored him instead.

Law enforcement and the FBI were getting reports from credible sources regarding the possibility for new violent attacks. When the means were positioned to hit back and hit back hard with force greater than what was available to potential attackers.... they were nowhere to be seen .
Yet with law enforcement coming down HARD on those already identified and the opposition knowing they would be up against a force a thousand times greater than they faced the first time you would think (like everyone else on the planet) that another uprising would be next to impossible from civilians. Anyone with any brains knew that Jan. 20th was going to be a flop. 90% of the crowd that took part in the first uprising were just peaceful protesters looking for their 15 minutes of fame to tell everyone back home they were there. After what happened you knew damn well those 90% weren't coming back.

At last count 180 , 22 of them veterans or currently serving members of the armed forces are now facing charges . . Furthermore the DOJ has pointed out these are the easy ones to prosecute . The ones that come later will be facing much more serious charges including sedition. So much for your "peaceful protesters" .

Can't have it both ways. Either Trump was responsible for approving the expenditure of 100's of millions to protect the inauguration, or he wasn't. The story some people are trying to sell is that Trump was responsible for the expenditure, which is funny, because they are also trying to say he incited an insurrection. Those two things are pretty contradictory, and they seem to believe them equally.

Georgia Secretary of State’s office launches probe into Trump

"The Georgia Secretary of State’s office opened an investigation on Monday into former U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results, an official in the office told Reuters.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office had faced calls to open a probe after Trump was recorded in a Jan. 2 phone call pressuring Raffensperger to overturn the state’s election results based on unfounded voter fraud claims.

“The Secretary of State’s office investigates complaints it receives,” said Walter Jones, a spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office, describing the investigation as “fact finding and administrative.”

“Any further legal efforts will be left to the attorney general,” he said.

Legal experts said Trump’s phone calls may have violated at least three state criminal election laws: conspiracy to commit election fraud, criminal solicitation to commit election fraud, and intentional interference with performance of election duties. The felony and misdemeanor violations are punishable by fines or imprisonment.

In the Jan. 2 phone call, Trump urged Raffensperger, a fellow Republican, to “find” enough votes to overturn his Georgia loss. The transcript quotes Trump telling Raffensperger: “All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes,” which is the number Trump needed to win. Trump made another phone call in December to Georgia’s chief elections investigator, Raffensperger’s office said."

"On Jan. 6 - the day of the U.S. Capitol riots - Trump bragged about the call in a speech to supporters: “People love that conversation because it says what’s going on,” he said. “These people are crooked.”

Big Whoop---they charged 180 out of that crowd. You know 2/3's of them will walk away scott free or with a slap on the wrist at most.
