...we’re going to walk down to the Capitol and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.

We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated. Lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.

No one actually believes the trial is unconstitutional. That’s a fiction so republicans can pretend to object to the process.
Except Supreme Court's Chief Justice John Roberts ... he refused to preside over the Impeachment as specified in the USA Constitution (Article 1, Section 3, Clause 6).*
Now why would he refused to perform his duties in an Impeachment trial as specified in the Constitution?
Oh yeah, he didn't think this Impeachment trial was Constitutional.

* Article 1, Section 3, Clause 6 of the United States Constitution states: "The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present."

You expect him to be convicted?
His legal team certainly isn't helping his cause. Castor came right out and suggested that instead of convicting him in the Senate a better option might be to have Trump arrested and face criminal prosecution. If that isn't bad enough his own attorney again that being Castor came right out and admitted that Trump did in fact lose the election and his other attorney well all he could do was to stand up there and read poetry. Now wonder all of the other guys Trump hired quit.

I wonder if Trump hired people who were actively working against him just to show what a farce the whole thing is.

Because Trump is no longer president and it's his second impeachment trial in the Senate the CJ can refuse to sit on the second trial which Roberts did do The job then falls to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

Trump must have demanded that his impeachment trial lawyers be every bit as incompetent as Rudy Giuliani during the recruitment process.

Yes because he's a private citizen and the Senate has no authority, criminal courts do.

They're not doing that because a legitimate court couldn't convict him, so they're using their kangaroo impeachment court.

Enough senators to acquit him already voted on a resolution declaring the trial unconstitutional. Its predetermined.
56-44 in favor of it being constitutional including 6 Republicans . You'll be able to read all about it in the morning when you can go down to the public library and use their free internet.

When you're butt is on the line , would you hire and pay an attorney for the specific purpose of working in behalf of the other party ?

His butt isn't even close to on the line. Even if this farce is carried all the way to the end, and Trump actually were convicted by the senate, which won't happen, hence the farce, the only thing that would happen is that he would be prevented from running for office again. But that wouldn't stop Trump from running again anyway, if he wanted to. Honestly, though, I don't really see another Trump run in 2024, another reason it's a farce. A waste of congress' time just too try to prevent something that wasn't likely to happen anyway.
