the dems will never change it back to a 60 vote majority.
Turtlehead went beyond the filibuster. No hearings, no votes unless the same party controls the senate and White House. This will cause some wild swings in the judicial branch as vacancies build up over years. McConnell will go down as the man that destroyed the independence of the judicial branch.

Nope!
Started with the Nevada Weasel Harry Reid and Turtleboy nailed the last nail.
The Repugs would not have extended it to SCOTUS if Weezer had not started with all judges below SCOTUS.
Plenty of blame on both sides and I can't honestly say I disagree with a simple majority.
Dims will get their chance.

It was never 'not political' ... at least since the Socialists started to show their heads (FDR).

Mumbles and his Repugs won more elections than the Dim Senators.
Yep, elections matter.

Irrelevant.

You can’t simultaneously claim that ‘elections matter’ and then also be ok with R’s straight up refusing to honor elections, vis-a-vis Mumbles shuttling down any of Obama’s lower court justice appointees, during Obama’s entire second term.

R’s know that their demographic is shrinking, so they go ballistic with Gerrymandering and voter suppression...it’s the only way for them to retain power.

It’s BS, but the eunuch Dems keep trying to play fair.

Corporate and ‘dark’ money, Gerrymandering (on both sides), the abdication of the Legislative branch’s powers toward the Executive branch, these are all indications that our Democracy is failing.

You may have a different take, but that’s how I see it.

Not Constitutional?

Its in the Constitution, that the President can appoint people to fill federal positions that normally require senate approval without said approval when the senate is in recess. Then the person appointed still has to be approved by the senate once they return from recess. Seems like it would be alot harder for the senate to deny confirming an appointment once theyd been “on the job”

And why did Reid have to drop the filibuster? Turtlehead refused to vote for anyone regardless of their qualifications. At this point it’s a good thing Reid did it or there would even more vacancies being filled by an unindicted co-conspirator in multiple felonies.
