Teamster Buyout?

You would have to be stupid to take it. Lose your health insurance, great pay, and pension contributions.

Statement from UPS says the buyout is in addition to any earned retirement and healthcare benefits. So if you're 55 you could get retiree health insurance and you would still collect whatever pension you have earned up to that point.

Wrong, I work with 350 feeder drivers. Top 55 have seniority dates prior to 1994. Go do something else with your life. Let someone else get a good start time. It’s laughable. Majority have nothing else in their life and it’s sad. They refuse to leave. Hopefully this buyout get a few to bite.

Top 55 out of 350 here have FT seniority dates pre 1994. Good riddance, beat it. Get a hobby. Let someone else get a good start time. Kick rocks. I hate to say it but they’re losers with no life outside of UPS.

I know several people that took buyouts from GM. Some of them invested it and enjoyed an early retirement. Some of them went and bought ATVs and boats and are now delivering pizzas living paycheck to paycheck.

According to what the offer is it might be worth it . The job is not getting any better that's for sure. I talked to a young driver the other day , he was washed down in sweat. Reminded me of myself some years ago. I gave him some words of encouragement . I told him that I made it to retirement and you will to one day and just like that he was on his way .
