I heard their ins would be paid until they reached Medicare age. Who the hell knows though, it’s all made up hearsay because UPS hasn’t released anything yetWe have two 30 year drivers in our building who are close...but they aren't 55 and still have kids at home. I don't see them leaving even for 200k if they gotta pay for insurance
Huh, that's interesting as I just assumed every building had Porter's.We do not have porters here.
The pension and insurance far exceeds our pay.Well a year and a half and a driver can make more then that buyout so…when u count benefits and salary
Monday will come just as it always does. In the meantime enjoy your family n friends and freedomThe pension and insurance far exceeds our pay.
It’s going to be fun listening to everyone while we wait for the numbers. It sounds like a morale boosting campaign. Everyone is so stressed out and anxious lately. Can’t wait until Monday

I do have other skill sets, just wouldn't go into detail how I bring in extra income. But I'm not looking to work another regular job once I leave here. Wouldn't have any desire or need to.learn some other skills , I know you’ve only worked at UPS ur entire life and have no other skills other than tossing cardboard . There’s a lot of money to be made outside UPS

I think the money we've saved by outsourcing the "important people" will easily cover all of the buyouts. What about @DRAGON II or @Operational needs Any news about this coming from the important people.
He's learning how to codeWell
That being said, let’s see what’s offered. You would have to be stupid to take it. Lose your health insurance, great pay, and pension contributions.
And yet they haven’t disclosed what’s in the severance?Peanuts.... with no health insurance.
Not all ups locations offer retiree healthcare or even reduced retiree healthcare. If it takes away retiree, health care, that's a complete deal breaker, nobody will take that.
I know some guys with one year in that would be gone for 7 grandI'm being told it's 7k per year of service they are offering as a buyout
I know a guy that doesn't ever move a car. He just yells at you if you park in the wrong bay like he's your supervisor or something. If you park in the wrong bay too bad you got the wrong truck tomorrow.Easy money. And they shouldn’t call it car wash over here because they never wash them anyway. Lucky if they put fuel in them.
Something smells fishy$210,000 for a 30 year employee? Why? When they can just run them into the ground and force them to say screw it and retire. I'm not buying it...if it sounds too good to be true it likely is.
If investors don't like what they're reading in the tea leaves maybe that says something about the direction we're headed in, but the guy that wrote that article has no clue what he's talking about about. We have a no strikes no lockouts clause and the nlrb case he referenced is from 2022 about 2 UPS supply chain solutions buildings. Even if a court awarded 10s of millions of dollars of compensation that isn't even a drop in the bucket for a company that posted 1.2 BILLION net income last quarter alone. Now we are getting warmed up.

Pay attention people....
"Worse, the plan strips drivers of employer-paid healthcare for retirees—a benefit earned after 30 years of service."
Like I says that guy has no clue what he's talking about about. He's just regurgitatingI’m having a hard time understanding how they could strip healthcare away from someone who’s already qualified for it. Maybe if they didn’t have the age yet I could understand but if they did, I don’t see how it could get stripped away. But this is UPS so who knows.
True, but why do this now with 25-30 year people when you're going to have to do it every 10 years or so? Not everyone I'm betting would be eligible or take it now. I'll believe it when I see it happening. You've been with UPS long enough to know they don't always do what's best or even smart financially.
With over 45 in, i hope the Teamsters at least let us look at it. About the only reason i stay now is i too tight to pay for Medicare and deal with all that supplement stuff.Word on the street is two weeks pay for every year of service time.
