Teamster Buyout?

Brown Circus

Shh...It’s peak and I’m hunting logic
Sure. That would only delay the inevitable. Do you think delivering packages is as hard as launching SpaceX rocket?

Tell you what we will load you up with 12 next day Air stops400 packages 200 stops 15 pick ups five OCA‘s a bricked out P800 and you tell us. 😉
Agreed. Amazon drivers are driving through lawns, running their butts off, leaving there vans running, rolling with cargo doors open, nosing down driveways and performing 50 yard back1sts all day.

Wrong, I work with 350 feeder drivers. Top 55 have seniority dates prior to 1994. Go do something else with your life. Let someone else get a good start time. It’s laughable. Majority have nothing else in their life and it’s sad. They refuse to leave. Hopefully this buyout get a few to bite.
I feel you need to leave in the next 5 years. Get lost.

I don't see where it says that? Am I missing something?
No. The ups statement is vague but seems to imply that health care, and pensions are still agreed too. Not enough details. It does beg the question - why do they want to get rid of drivers?

The whole offer by definition assumes bye bye to all these jobs which is a clear violation of the contract! I see a possible legal battle even though most of the old timers say it’s a worthless fight - maybe not with this one. I hope the Teamsters have deep pockets!

The difference from a high seniority driver at top rate with maximum vacation and a brand new driver is over one hundred thousand dollars per year minimum

So there offer is tactical. The only way to fulfill contractual obligations -hiring- is hope that close to retirement drivers bite. You going to do it?
I cannot answer that question to I see what the offer is

Short answer is. I will probably take it if it's beneficial to me and my family and get me out of this hell hole

I've never got so many texts and phone calls as I did yesterday

The drop in volume on the horizon most be off the charts!
Exactly the reason for all the building closures, the potential buyouts and all the other whispers going around…. Let’s face it WE ALL have a love /hate relationship with Amazon and life after them will be a lot like life before them which meant less routes , less stops and unfortunately less employees!
