UPS is preparing the offer letters as we speak. There will be a cutoff date to determine years of service.

Tom Camp had 55 years of safe driving and was working in his early 70’s. I walked at 57 with 29.3 years of service and 25 years safe driving.

They should call this the Tom Camp Buyout as it is folks like him that were its inspiration.

It may take a few contracts but you will eventually see a mandatory retirement age.

This guy started driving in 1962----I was born in 1961. I retired after 29.3 years----the most recent post I can find about him (2020) says he was starting his 58th year and looking forward to hitting 60.

Mystery solved.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
Just all emails
And whats really sad

The people at the pension hall are even less informed.
I called a few times with questions. Hit or miss. The last time I called was just over the 4 month mark, Sean’s wife worked there, and happened to answer the phone. She said her name and I asked if she was related. Yep, wifey. A little BSing and I had 2 checks a week later. What a guy that Sean is! 🤣🤣🤣

I guess you missed the realistic part.

You said that you have the years of service but not the age. Take the buyout, freeze your pension, cut grass for a year or two and then start drawing.

$5K * 30 =$150K. Less 20% Federal and 10% state leaves $105K.

The primary issue would be the healthcare.
Oooorrrrrrr…. He could work a year or two more with a pension increase each year, which lasts forever compared to a one time buyout price
