Tentative contract

Lots of people on route coming up and talking about the whole situation.

Unfortunately the unclear headlines are misleading, particularly to the public taking a quick look.

Someone approached me to talk about the deal and thought we were going to be at $49/hr on day one. 🙄 We can blame the headlines for that. Lot's of people don't get the whole 5 year thing. This guy also had no idea we were any where close to what we make now and said "congrats!, this is so life changing for you!"

Or you could look at it like you got $12.50 raise over 10 years.

Who cares what newbies make. You said it in other threads. Same work, same pay.

Comparing yourself to others only makes you resentful of others instead of happy with what you’ve got.

$12.50 over 10 years isn’t bad my friend.

+ you will probably get an extra dollar or more because of the catch up raise.
It’s because I started at the exact starting wage as in 1980

Anyone that looks at the contract as anything but a complete screw over by both the company and the union for anyone in that 8-15 year PT seniority range is a fool.

VOTE NO
It’s a PART TIME job. If you want more you gotta go full time that’s how it’s meant to be. Even still you get more from a part time ups job than almost anywhere else that I know about. And if you maximize your opportunities ie come early stay late work doubles you can still make nice cash

Part timers here are asking still about the forced 6th punch. Does anyone see that anywhere?

There is no such thing they can do everything they can to get you to come in a Saturday or whatever during peak but they can’t force you
You obviously don’t work
In central pa. Not only are they forced in a 6th day, they don’t even get to bid a work week. The company here doesn’t bid work weeks for part timers. So, if the company needs 50 people on Monday, they will use the top 40 then ask for volunteers. They then use all the rest for Tuesday for Saturday.

So much for taking care of senior employees. All going to under 5. I'm guessing for union dues. Ridiculous.
