I don't support insulting the intelligence of voters because I don't think it is ignorance per se, but I don't know what it is either. I think in America it is tied up with republican voters identifying with republicans as sort of like an ethnic identity, but I don't know if that's right either.
Have you ever voted other then Democrat?

We have vaccines for the flu, but we haven't even proved that they work.
It say they think. There is no solid proof it works. The 40-60% is a guess.
" ...recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to the flu vaccine."

In other words, in the best case scenario.

Conclusion
CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza
There is no test/ controlled test where they expose the flu virus to people that have gotten the flu shot. To prove it actually works. Smh... Use that thing that is soft between your ears.

One of my favorite mysticism books as a kid was The Way of the Sufi by Idries Shah. Idries Shah was a descendant of Mohammad, but he was a Sufi mystic. His books were basically a compilation of different mystics throughout time, pre-dating Islam, Christianity, Judaism. Never adopted it as my own philosophy but it was a unique read for sure.
I've read The Bible many times but I did read many comparative religion books and enjoyed the insights they brought to my understanding and journey in cementing my relationship with God.
I was impressed that ethical teachings are virtually identical amongst the various religions.
Love of our fellow man, goodness, compassion, charity and discipline of our passions were a common refrain in all.

A bullet proof vest is actually bullet resistant. This means that it will prevent the vest being penetrated by certain types and sizes of bullets travelling up to certain speeds. Even if a vest is strong enough to stop the bullet penetrating, the wearer may still suffer injury.

In other words, in the best case scenario...

Vaccines are just one tool that a person can use to decrease their chances of getting the flu and other diseases.
I always get the vaccines that are available, I stay away from crowds indoors and I wash my hands several times a day.
Those are three of many tools I use to try and protect myself and others in society.

Are you arguing for Nazi era medical studies? I think ethical double blind placebo studies and following the participants in real world environments is more american. Maybe you should stand down and stand by.

So I've spent some time using that soft thing between my ears. There's been a number of human challenge studies of influenza vaccines. One of the more recent studies for the flu-v vaccine showed recipients were significantly less likely to develop the disease vs. placebo.

There's also challenge studies for covid-19 in the work's. It's yet to be seen if they will ever start with sheer lack of knowledge related to this virus.
