How so? I’d argue conservatives want governments in people’s lives more than I do. You can bring up the vaccine topic, but after that what are you talking about?

Unless you mean social safety nets or not wanting private insurance. Otherwise I’m against the government telling me what I can and can’t put in my own body, I don’t agree with the death penalty and I’m against the government telling a woman telling her what she can do with her body. What else am I missing?
Pretty much all those things are what you’re missing because the left wants to control all of them as well. If you want to be able to do whatever you want with your body, you would be a libertarian definitely not a liberal Democrat.

It's not the government. It's the voters in each state telling their representatives what they want. If a state's position on abortion isn't to your liking then there are other states to choose from. It's obvious that everyone must bend to what the Left wants to make the Left happy. Which is why the Right has gained ground. And why the Left is importing millions of future voters. You'll try to force your views on everyone with newcomers who are beholden to you.
Yeah, and all those voters they are importing. They’re gonna be very upset when they find out they’re even more conservative and family oriented than the American conservatives. Might really backfire on them big time.

Trump tried doing a national abortion ban in his first term and is now saying he’ll do one for 15 weeks

Why leave it up the states? Why not go one step further and leave it up to the woman

Trump’s not doing a national abortion ban. Lol

He’s got the perfect out. He’s leaving it up to the States. There’s no benefit for him to have an abortion ban. He doesn’t even care about abortion.

I used to consider myself a libertarian, and I wish I could be a libertarian, but I don’t trust these corporations to not destroy our waters and planet to increase their quarterly profits, there needs to be some regulations

And as for the other things, republicans are generally in favor of the death penalty, they’re still not even caught up on marijuana (should at least be decriminalized on the federal level) and still telling women what they can do with their bodies

Why didn’t Biden decriminalize? He promised to.

Very good point. Although I believe he should have done an executive order and let it go to the courts or let the republicans strike it down, because I believe it can only be done by Congress. But Bernie Sanders claimed it could be done with executive order but who knows

But you’re right, he shouldn’t have promised that and not followed up. I’ve criticized him for that on this site plenty

Harris's promise that a Biden-Harris administration would decriminalize marijuana.

"We will decriminalize marijuana and we will expunge the records of those who have been convicted of marijuana," she said.

Oops

But then you have this, where republicans were fighting back against Biden’s push to reschedule marijuana from schedule 1 to schedule 3

They wanted marijuana to stay where it was at schedule 1, the same category as heroin, and higher up than fentanyl and meth. It’s just ridiculous

“Despite all the pushback, rescheduling to Schedule III still makes the manufacturing, distribution, dispensing and possession of marijuana prohibited under the CSA.

Subsequently, advocates of marijuana reform have continued to characterize the proposed rule as largely symbolic, apart from some potential tax benefits that marijuana businesses could take advantage of after rescheduling is completed

Cat Packer, director of drug markets and legal regulation at the Drug Policy Alliance, called rescheduling a “lateral move.”

“There are folks who have said it’s decriminalization, but I disagree, in part, because the way that the Controlled Substances Act is set up,” Packer said. “’There’s no change to criminalization. So, there’s a means by which the government can continue criminalization while just simultaneously, for the first time, acknowledging that there’s currently accepted medical use.”

You gotta read the whole story and understand what you’re even talking about. They’re not going to they were never going to let people out jail. And the government will still be involved with the way you get and use marijuana. Just like with tobacco.. Biden couldn’t even keep his promise halfway. Because he never planned to.
