They just cut half our runs in feeders, our hub is on its last leg, the young people are gone bc there’s no work for them. I don’t see this getting better anytime soon. Looks like we’re all bumping to delivery which creates a whole new set of problems.Better not bigger. Maybe this contract wasn’t such a big win after all. 1,000’s of union members losing their jobs, thousands of dollars in dues now lost. Hmmm.
From what I hear from my feeder buddies is its business as usual just cutting o/t. They’re still training new guys. Although there is about 5 guys bailing soon. They just cut half our runs in feeders, our hub is on its last leg, the young people are gone bc there’s no work for them. If I had to guess I'd say I only got the letter because the sup is a girl.We had one act like a bulldogger. Thought he was the best. I wasn’t playing along and he got himself all fired up and in a tussle. I made him cry like a schoolboy.
Actually typing this I probably should’ve just let go. My bad.
They seem to be cutting much more than what they NEED to do. Are they going to give separation benefits to our union brother and sisters who won’t be able to bump anyone else??? They are supposedly doing this for management. Really ing sucks when some of this falls right in the lap of brown waiting so long to come through with the contract negotiations.Perrysburg UPS shop closing, workers being laid off
The closure of the shop is part of the 12,000 nationwide cuts announced by UPS in January.www.wtol.com
ExactlyUPS would have sent volume to automated centers even if we got a contract.

And Mondays....How about eliminating Saturday deliver???
The company did the same thing in 2008 then when the economy starts recover they they didn't have a big enough workforce to handle everythingWe are the best at what we do. Keep protecting our reputation and follow the rules. The reality is most of us posting aren’t going to lose our jobs or get laid off. We’ve all been through this before. Cuts are made every spring and when the economy drops.
Enjoy your route. Do you remember working all those hours saving for a rainy day? All your work is paying off now.
I remember well. The company did the same thing in 2008 then when the economy starts recover they they didn't have a big enough workforce to handle everything
Nah dude, we went back 20 years. I was here in 97 and it wasn't like this. All our feeder and hub jobs have gone to automated hubs. Maybe someone will listen when 18 feeder drivers bump out the bottom 18 delivery drivers with more to follow.THE OLD UPS IS BACK
Yeah but it's some of these hubsI remember well.
The good news is if the ones who are laid off have opportunities. Quite a few jobs out there that are labor intensive and pay well.
It stinks all around. I m trying to be positive. Unfortunately I think we’re at the start of the cuts.Yeah but it's some of these hubs
There's going to be people a lot of seniority let go
It's not so much about how much they make per hour but the benefits are more expensive than what the most part-timers are makingIt stinks all around. I m trying to be positive. Unfortunately I think we’re at the start of the cuts.
