I doubt the closing of hubs was discussed at the bargaining table last contract, Volume want nearly this low after a few years of record levels. It would have been a huge risk loss for the company to have safeguards put in place by the union on retaining employees. They are cutting everything while we are-going into a recession. Look at Fedex getting rid of their NDA guys moving it all into the ground division. Yellow freight went under the largest carrier and if you ask any freight driver out there how is business lately they will tell you never seen it this slow. UPS cut outsourced, 1-800 #, BD, sales, building maintenance, safety, trailer shops shutting down. Your going to see dispatch sups to other inside part time non hourly going. This CEO loves to outsource. Look at the India investment for the replacement of said jobs. Until the economy returns we are going to see this. Delivery centers in rural areas where combined in 2008 recession. Contract we got or not when had plans of cutting, The company will only use what's needed for employees per volume levels.I was told by the business agent for the union we would have the option to stay at the mesquite hub or move where the work goes by seniority.. so basically anyone 10 years and under will be out of a job... the union knew this would happen when they easily signed the contract that didn't protect the part-timers they were allegedly fighting for
Recession. LOLI doubt the closing of hubs was discussed at the bargaining table last contract, Volume want nearly this low after a few years of record levels. you don't see a slow down? How are they closing centers and diverting volume to others so fast? we have maybe 13 cars sitting out of 38 now on a monday with ni ground Saturday delivery, Every area I talk to is way down here. Feeder routes cut etcRecession. LOL
Too much over hiring during the pandemic. While volume may be down, it always was at this time of year.you don't see a slow down? We’ve both been through this. Something about this time is different.Too much over hiring during the pandemic. While volume may be down, it always was at this time of year.
We’re not in a recession- economy is actually performing better than expected. Many of us were worried about this 3 years ago. UPS basically raped customers with price increases under “better not bigger” in 2020 - those of us who understand realize customers have loooooong memories.Recession. LOL
Lay off the sauce, broWe’re not in a recession- economy is actually performing better than expected. Many of us were worried about this 3 years ago. UPS basically raped customers with price increases under “better not bigger” in 2020 - those of us who understand realize customers have loooooong memories.
Fast forward to Carol’s ”loud and late” negotiation tactics and you get maximum customer diversions just when volumes declined. This whole mess lies at Brian and Carol’s feet - these bean counters will kill the company to keep their profit sharing. Make no mistake the latest push is expensive automation that will further saddle UPS with high fixed costs and complete irrelevance in rural zip codes. All union inside jobs will be gone in 3 years - union membership will shrink at UPS.
I agree with about half of your statements. Union inside jobs both FT and PT have only increased over the last 40 years. We’re not in a recession- economy is actually performing better than expected. Many of us were worried about this 3 years ago. UPS basically raped customers with price increases under “better not bigger” in 2020 - those of us who understand realize customers have loooooong memories.

Someone remind me to come back to this one.All union inside jobs will be gone in 3 years
When Mesquite shuts down and is a ghost town, what work will be there to do?I was told by the business agent for the union we would have the option to stay at the mesquite hub or move where the work goes by seniority.. so basically anyone 10 years and under will be out of a job... the union knew this would happen when they easily signed the contract that didn't protect the part-timers they were allegedly fighting for
Knock on wood but my building has seemed as busy as ever if not more some daysToo much over hiring during the pandemic. While volume may be down, it always was at this time of year.
They will set up a package car (maybe 90 car?) 'village' while the hub is being upgraded. Their will be reduced number of drivers and preload personnel onsite but there will be some during the upgrade. When Mesquite shuts down and is a ghost town, what work will be there to do?
This would be happening regardless of the contract we signed. It is a great front for the company and Carol to project it onto the union as the party to blame to further great a divide between the company, workers and the union,.,,to pit us all against each other….weaken the so called solidarity.I was told by the business agent for the union we would have the option to stay at the mesquite hub or move where the work goes by seniority.. so basically anyone 10 years and under will be out of a job... the union knew this would happen when they easily signed the contract that didn't protect the part-timers they were allegedly fighting for
Did they change the mean of recession…….again? We’re not in a recession- economy is actually performing better than expected. Many of us were worried about this 3 years ago. UPS basically raped customers with price increases under “better not bigger” in 2020 - those of us who understand realize customers have loooooong memories.

Did you know there was a pandemic not to long ago?you don't see a slow down? How are they closing centers and diverting volume to others so fast? we have maybe 13 cars sitting out of 38 now on a monday with ni ground Saturday delivery, Every area I talk to is way down here. Feeder routes cut etc
