The New Contract And Future Pension Contributions: Are We Ok. Or Are We Robbing Peter To Pay Paul?

I see. You want to retire after 30 years, at 55, and make the same amount that you made while working?

That’s not what a pension is for.
No what I'm saying is the central is going to get $5,300 a month for 30 years of service at age 55
Too many other plans are not even near that
That's why I'm saying we should got a little extra money put into our pension plan

Oh, is that not what a pension is for because you need our money? Because if it's possible to do then that's absolutely what a pension is for.

I've never seen anyone try so hard to convince someone that they shouldn't want more money... especially money that is rightfully theirs.

I like how these guys make it sound like a bad thing that we want to continue to make increased contributions to our pensions. We should be happy with what we have in their opinion.

Like they've ever given anything up for another teamster. Most of these central supporters would step over a dying PTer to pick up a nickle for their wages.
I'm not trying to compare my plan to yours I'm the same many or other plans have way lower payout and there's no way we should not be getting a little bit of extra money to put in those plans

How many 60-year-old drivers does this place want?

I love the central region guys that think their opinion on the matter means anything to us. You got yours and more.

Wait till next contract when we all get nothing again so that the poor central region guys can get another bailout.

It'll be the same "we don't make as much as you! You guys don't need all that money!" I'll take a line out of the old timers book.

You don't like your pension then quit and go get hired in the western region. No one is forcing you to work in the Central region.

Fair enough. But the Central Region is well funded now. It is at 102%

It is not like the old days when it was mismanaged.

And the Central didn’t take a damn thing from the West. You will still get your $8K. It will not be reduced.

Oh, I see. You want more. You want more being retired than you made while working. That is not a pension. That is a 401K.

If it's at 102% then it is mismanaged still. You don't want a pension at 100 or over.

So we do without and they get more.
