What kind of message would that send to all other small and large labor unions around the world . Why have a union. Why do we pay UNION DUEs if our voice can not be heard. All past contracts had fewer votes cast .if you want everyone one to vote I challenge you to make it mandatory somehow ((like voting booths in front of workplace ). I challenge you to do this and guarantee that the percentage will be more then 54% NO . The votes not casted from remaining employeess are from the part timers who can’t afford a phone to place thier vote because of the low pay they are receiving. !!!!!

They do not want an informed membership. They do not want high voter turnout. UPS owns the teamsters and this is the end.

After this voting result should I try to drive or become a part time supervisor? I’m probably the best unloader in my building but it’s pretty miserable

If you want to go FT driving now, you’ll have to start as a 22.4. And 22.4s will have no protections to keep them from being worked to death and then shot out of UPS’s butthole after a relatively short career.

On the other hand, I’d rather die in a fire than ever be a member of management. Couldn’t bring myself to operate like they’re pressured to.

Those advising you to go elsewhere are right.

It does seem like they have to sell their soul. My pt super is a colossal dirtbag

The message is Unions are irrelevant.
When less than 50% of your members vote on a contract it shows how useless unions are.
The Membership clearly doesn't care.

hahaha half the people working in any given UPS hub aren't even union members at this point. Between supervisors working, seasonals 6 months out of the year and expanding, subcontractors. The union is a figment of people's imagination. The only time you know it's there is when they are sucking on the $ tit once a month. It's a scam, a sham, a con job. #notmyunion

People hired under the 2013-2018 contract shouldn't be allowed to vote. Only let people who have invested their lives into this company that privilege.

I see ur other points about the pt new hires, yet i was hired in 2014 and i voted, i plan to make a living out of ups so my voice should matter.

A good compromise would be vested for 1 year before being able to vote. That would eliminate most of the people who have no interest in making this a career and don't care to vote one way or the other.
