In the continuing saga of the party of family values, here we have an interesting case of WTF.
A woman married a man connected to "THE VILLAGE CHURCH". She thought she was marrying a moral leader, a right wing fanatic consumed with the rhetoric of family values and such and a supporter of many republican candidates and ideas.
But low and behold, she finds out a nasty secret!!
This man, has been consuming CHILD PORNOGRAPHY FOR YEARS and the Church has been protecting him!

The right wing scumbag involved is named Jordan Root.
Once the new wife discovered the child porn, she went to the church to report it. The church did the right thing of course, and disciplined HER for speaking out.
Thats what the party of family values does.

What do you define as a "real Church"? I've got FireFox and the links work for me. One link is to a news story on the matter at Christianity Today, a christian based news/information publication who under "Our Mission" states: "Equipping Christians to renew their minds, serve the church, and create culture to the glory of god."
Whether the Dallas megachurch "Village Church" fits your definition or not, (seems to with Christianity Today), an entity in Dallas Texas called "Village Church" with over 10k members is involved in a situation where 2 members, a married couple Jordan and Karen Root, were missionaries to Asia when Karen felt something in their marriage was seriously wrong. She pressed until her husband Jordan admitted the truth that he was engaging in internet child pornography. The Roots immediately came back home and the wife obtained an annulment of the marriage to the displeasure of the Village Church.
The conflict is that Karen upon accepting membership in this church signed a document which serves in the capacity of a contract that in matters such as this, Karen would submit to the direction and guidance of the church in counseling to reconcile the marriage. The church claims Karen did not do this when she immediately sought and was awarded an annulment from their very young marriage. From what I've read, Karen doesn't seem to dispute that but goes on to suggest the actions of the church weren't about what was really good for Karen but was about protecting appearances of the church.
And like any large scale business, protecting the image and the brand is important and controlling events in order to spin the story to protect that image and brand is equally important. In the case of Karen Root as it benefits Village Church, a together and happy married couple after such events sells better to the public as re-assurance than the present situation does.

I would also add that in no story I've read on this matter and I've read a number of them since it is a hot topic item in the free thought sphere, have ever addressed or even mentioned Jordan Root's political leanings.
Seems to me that is a pure "LEAP OF FAITH" by a certain poster here with a political narrative agenda.

The word occultist (ist: one who) or occult from the latin occultus means "hidden, secret, concealed" (occultist: one who hides, conceals, keep secret) and many "churches" may well fit that definition. Some would rightly argue from the being the entire christian orthodox church fit that definition so in that sense we seem to agree.

This megachurch is a pure right wing "PRO LIFE" organization who doesnt believe in political leanings of the democratic party. Homosexuality is a sin, and same sex marriage is blasphemy.
YOU may not be able to find information about their political leanings, but thats your problem.
