The Policies That Failed

Obama sent a team over to Israel at taxpayer expense to help the opposition defeat Netanyahu(they failed). The other day his UN ambassador abstained on a vote that all previous administrations would've vetoed. His admin has been extremely unfriendly to Israel, and I'm not talking about money already earmarked from previous agreements.

You seem locked into titles. No, I'm not an economist but show me one who thinks cap-and-trade is a good idea and I'll show you an income redistributing Socialist. You work for Express, right? Do you have any idea what the crippling effect would've been on FedEx under such a scheme? Think they'd ever be able to give raises with all the carbon credits they'd have to buy? For a guy who didn't vote for Obama you sure defend his policies.
P.S. Cap-and-trade would've affected the entire economy. Carrier is a one off deal. How is there any comparison? You serious?

Van, my step-dad (who is one of the "powers that be" at X - still hates his job btw) finally caught me, so I'm just going to level with you. You've been dueling with a fairly precocious 17 year-old high school student (I am so proud of the ECS mighty Eagles, LOL) I've been ordered to shut the Meat "character" down, so I'm going to offer you a bit of advice since you don't seem like a bad guy (not necessarily the brightest). Please reevaluate your life; the majority of my senior class has been monitoring our "witty" repartee and they think you are somewhat of a joke (keep in mind these are all "true believers" and hardly the evil liberals you keep prattling on about). How does it feel to find out you have been schooled in the subjects of history and politics by a minor? How old did you say you were, like 60? Oh, and by the way, everything you think that the upper crust thinks of the front-line sods is absolutely true - the next time my step-dad pisses me off my recordings are going straight to YouTube.

If true then let me offer my own evaluation. I'm sure you know the meaning of the word sophomore. Folks your age know everything whether you do or not. I'm 54 by the way. You like to think you've "schooled" me but all you really do is swear to emphasize a point without offering facts. Knowledge comes not only with education but real life experience. No matter how intelligent and superior you believe yourself to be you haven't experienced life yet and will truly experience a new perspective when you do. Hope you've had a good laugh and I wish you well and good luck. With your attitude you'll need it.

Barrett Jones played at ECS. Then went to play for my Tide. He was an awesome college player before playing on Sundays. Do they produce many good college players or was he an exception?

wow.. oldfart didn't complain that your stepdad hates his Fn job.. Is oldfart your dad?

not exactly sure how much I believe here, either. meat is very troll-ish, like the "all is fine" thread from a year ago.

Hey oldfart? who's your team?

Without identifying him, how high up are we talking (in general terms) about your step-dad? Please do follow-through on your threats. If he is high enough up the food chain, he could literally be the "Deep Throat" that blows (pun intended) the lid off the FedEx fairy tale. Invite him to come on here and take me on or some of the other "bad attitude" employees who frequent this forum. I bet he'd fold like a house of cards.

Stay tuned. I'm going to be offering Republican Conversion Therapy soon, and please don't let your classmates grow-up to be GOP, or work for a shathole like FedEx. My 15 year old "gets it" when it comes to the hypocrisy and rote screed of Conservatives, and it looks like you do too.

Tell your step-dad you deserve a BZ.

Like the Tide and the Sooners. Strange combination but have been following them both for many years and go to at least 2 home games of each every year. Follow the Packers as well. Try to make it up there every couple of years but usually catch a road game annually cause it is easier to get tickets.

No matter who lives on Pennsylvania Ave, I still have 7 trucks to get off the dock every day and make sure the packages in them get delivered.

While I disagree with you totally about politics, I agree with your take on "Meat" and his lack of life experience. At 17, you think you have the world by the balls when you, in fact, know little about the real life experience you mention. If step-dad is a higher up as Meat claims, then he's probably led a relatively pampered life, and never had to have a real job and make the bills.

Like you, I've had plenty of hard, dirty jobs in my life, including FedEx. I would imagine Meat has never had to chain-up an 18-wheeler in a blizzard after already working 11 hours, and ending up with 14 at the side of the road because you're out of hours and have to wait another 3 for a ride back to the ramp. I've had plenty of 60 hour weeks as both an RTD and courier. I've worked hurt, sick, and over hours plenty of times back when I bled Purple.

I'll also agree on the superior attitude part. Meat, nor any of his friends, have any experience trying balance work, kids, and maintain some level of quality of life. He sounds like a smart kid who needs a few of life's knocks to see how it really works.

How could that be? That guy from Texas says that Trump's election represents a populace movement. Wouldn't his policies benefit the general populace?

He has promised more jobs, not the quality of them.

But then again they just say things to get elected, he's already said as much. So now we get to wait and see which ones he meant and which ones were to gather votes.

I don't think that will accomplish much. Being an effective step parent is quite different and complex.

If he is actually 17 and as cool as he thinks he is.. he should get a job in fast food/grocery/retail and become a manager and have to mediate issues in dozens of scenarios for, typically, nonnegotiable pay.

I was asked a question by mucduck and answered it. If it bothers you, put me on ignore.

Well.. the most important part wasn't acknowledged. If his step dad is in fact high level executive and hates his job.. shouldn't you have a blatant issue with it?

He isn't posting on here. You have a kid who says he step-dad hates his job. Might or might not be true. Let the step-dad get on here and whine and cry and I would have an issue.
