What do you say when they open the package, see the contents broken, and then they want to refuse?
Ask them if they want to keep it or refuse the pkg. If they keep it put damage in the remarks column. Tell them to contact the shipper and keep all the packing in case they want to file a claim.

A lot of companies, especially office supplies, just send them replacements and dont even bother with a claim because they know it wasn't packaged properly.

If they refuse it then follow your centers procedures for sheeting a damaged package and take it to your clerk.

Rolled 4 trailers Monday, 4 Tuesday, 3 Wednesday, all caught up by Friday. I think our dispatch supe is using ORION more effectively this year (second year on ORION). Dispatch became self leveling as the week went on.

We rolled a couple because they never arrived but we were clean everyday otherwise.

Not a bad peak so far, lets see what the next couple of weeks bring.

We had two loads from Syracuse that had been cancelled but ended up showing up anyway. We did roll those but are also clean going in to Monday.

zero care, to be honest if there's a devastating power-outage 2" of blue/white glaze "blue bomb" ice storm right around December 18-22nd, with heavy snow across the north, I will not cry.

One might surmise that peak wouldn't be as much of a problem if UPS didn't set up driver staffing company wide with so much mandatory OT for the other 11 months.

Isn't it interesting that a business with one peak month would under staff the rest of the year. Then peak comes along a surprises everyone and there's somehow not enough drivers, trucks, building space, etc.

Mall route with delivery docks that don't take anything past 11 and we're leaving at 10:45 most days. It's a disaster everyday trying to empty your truck and delivering at trash apartments after 9 pm.
