If markets drop another 4% tomorrow it will be the first time since The Great Depression that markets have fallen 4% for three days in a row.

But at least we don’t have to listen to Kamala Harris laugh.

Our cars are too big for European roads I doubt there will be a giant rise in demand for them

But regardless, so much for the manufacturing at home and income tax theory

Now we’ll just have to weather the storm, deal with the higher prices and hope it works out

Also we’ll have to hope the companies lower the prices after tariffs are removed. I have a feeling they won’t though and we’ll be stuck with the new higher prices from now on. We’ll see
You think everyone in Europe drives a tiny car? Are you not familiar with Mercedes? Audi? Volkswagen? And our companies can build small cars too to compete with the Europeans. And that's just one of a number of products. Agricultural products for example. Come on man, open your mind.

Europe doesn't want American crap. Start building reliable, innovative cars and you'd probably see some interest.

My experience has been that cars from both American and European automakers are generally pieces of :censored2: in their own ways.

I thought in the past that I would pay any price not to have to see and hear her for the next 4 years so it looks like I’m getting a bargain!

But the fact remains that they are very protective of their manufacturers. Make all markets open to sell in and competition usually improves quality.

Tariffs that make sense are fine. Dropping a nuke on your economy by suddenly tariffing the whole world isn't fine. "Reciprocal" tariffs based on made up foreign tariff percentages aren't fine.

I agree that a piecemeal approach negotiating with various countries instead of an all or nothing bomb dropped would've been better.

What has UPS done in the past concerning layoffs? Think that's on the table if this continues for some time?

It's gonna get much worse and I guess Trump supporters are gonna stay on this ride with him all the way down.
The U.S. won't be alone in this. If we were then other countries would tell us to pound sand. Expect serious negotiations soon.

Y'all are forgetting that the stock market took a huge hit in 2020 with the pandemic. We got out of that ok. This isn't the end of the world yet. And we're kidding ourselves to believe that we can keep adding to the national debt with no severe consequences eventually.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

All the way back to prosperity. His poll numbers are all up, especially with 18 to 34 year olds. This country is the biggest economy and consumer market on the planet. My money is on the US. Stop listening to the lies of the left.
We built Europe and Japan up after WW 2. We helped France, Britain and others with low interest loans, grants and other economic assistance, including low tariffs on their goods. The were allowed to have high tariffs on us and we had low tariffs on them in order to help their industries. That’s a long time ago. They never lowered the tariffs and we never complained because it wasn’t really hurting us. But we haven’t had a trade surplus since 1975! We’ve lost jobs and industries to those countries and others. Enough is enough.
