First off i take any security breaches seriously and there has to be accountability if procedures were not followed.

with that said this is a political masterpiece for the dems. Kudo's to them if they didnt add that name to an existing list then they definitely know how to maximize the benifs. I've always said the dems play the game much better than the repubs.

Ive seen too many of these in the past where this turned into nothing burgers once the facts come out so I'll wait for it all to come out.

text chat took place weeks ago and the info just came out yesterday. right before the hearing today. Brilliant.

many of the questions in todays hearing cant be answered in an unclassified hearing which makes the repubs look evasive. brilliant move on the part of the dems.

i understand the signal app deletes messages immediately or over time which would make answering todays questions even tougher if you dont have it to reference. Did the reporter confer with dems to plan this new release knowing that since it allows them to make accusations that cant be verified.

Tulsi and radcliffe did a poor job answering the questions today and did not help their cause. It sounds like battle plans were discussed in general terms and they should have just fessed up if that is the case.

My concern here is you have gabbard and hegspeath in roles they're really not suited for and their inexperience may have jeoperdized our security and put our troops at risk. Again I'll wait for it all to come out before i pass final judgement.

congress should also pull in the reporter and ask him what steps he took once he had that information. who did he call did he confer with democrat leadership on the timing for releasing this story? if this information is or was classified then did he discuss it with anyone who did not have the security clearances or need to know. I understand he recieved it and was reading it while in a DC parking lot. pull his phone records and see who he called next.

ultimately this is a wonderful political weapon for the dems and they will beat the repubs senseless. Rebutting what was said would require releasing actual classified information which wont happen.

Obviously it was a screw up, thankfully nothing came of it in regards to the actual operation. That said, who added the reporter? Was it a malicious act by someone outside the chain? Is the signal app compromised? The Democrats are only interested in smearing the administration, not getting the truth. They are fundamentally against anything that doesn’t comport with their toxic ideology. The fact that this only came out just before the hearing leads me to think this was a set up.

Nah, I've already figured a way out of this:

Have the House subpoena all phone records and emails.

In response have all devices connected to those records smashed into bits and pieces.

Then "bleach bit" any server connected to those devices.

Finally, look smugly at camera and say no reasonable prosecutor would pursue this.

I've heard this strategy works well.

Let’s think this through.

Let’s assume the National Security Advisor’s wife got into his account and invited The Atlantic’s editor to this sham of a classified chat to discuss battle plans. Ok. She’s wrong for having done that and it’s bad.

But. But! Doesn’t the fact that NSA Waltz had such poor protection over his sensitive data as part of his job reflect terribly on him as well? At the very least he should resign. People have went to prison for much less.
